  1. Sorry, to be clear you are correct. Piper completely understood why he had to leave for the club to carry on running. He was just always a Leicester fan and wanted to play for us and not leave.
  2. Playing in a reserve team game. Stan playing cm and Trevor striker. Trevor kept missing the chances Stan created. Piper said Stan was like Zidane cm in reserve level football. Coming off at half time Stan said how can we expect to score with that lad upfront. Got to the changing room, Both tried to hit each other and Trevor apparently knocked Stan down, Gary Parker told Trevor to go to the Physio room to keep the 2 apart. Stan went to the physio room and got knocked down again.. Piper didn't want to leave, Micky Adams told him if he doesn't go, the staff that have helped Matt since he was in our club from the age of 7 will be sacked on the Friday, this was the Wednesday and he had to leave.
  3. Not sure if this is the correct place. Please feel free to move / delete if need too. Great podcast from Matt Piper. Talking about his move to Sunderland and the story of Trevor Benjamin and Stan Collymoore. pl
  4. West Brom away, year we just stayed up. 3-2 win, Vardy goal late on. Importance of the game and atmosphere looked unreal.
  5. Connolly and De Vries. Pretty sure Howard and De Vries careers were separate times with us. Pretty entertaining front 2 if played together, Allardyce or Dyche would love that
  6. Mark de Vries. Think they were our strike force for a while. Shows how far we have come.
  7. Unfortunately we had to sell Connolly the same day as we signed Hume, think Connolly went to Wigan for a few million. Needed the money and signed Hume for reasonable amount from Tranmere.
  8. He played quite a bit actually. I was shocked too our first season back in the prem. Without being rude he never looked like a footballer yet his touch was still very decent. Played away at Chelsea when they had a class side, and we had GTF, Konchesky, and I think Dean Hammond for a long time in the game. Still think we kept the score pretty close.
  9. My first ever away game.. What a goal to top it off. Down to 10 men then this for a goal, fish and chips way home great too. Superb team player.
  10. would be ideal in a 352, offers something different to both Vardy and Kelechi. Shame for some reason never worked out here. Clearly talented and a goal scorer when he wants to be.
  11. As a point - has anyone noticed VAR might be stopping frames at the wrong time in close offsides to allow the goal? Since all the criticism they have had looked like they chose the wrong image. Of course I could be completely wrong.. Just thought Jesus looked offside but they chose the wrong frame to view. Plus Martial looked offside for his goal v Watford.
  12. Grealish Doucoure Edouard, in case we go 352 he would be a good option. Keep Fuchs for one more year. Sell Albrighton, unfortunate but just wont get the game time. Ghezzal Mendy released on free.
  13. If we were an "English top 6 side" the villa one would have been a penalty. Further evidence var only favours the big sides. Kelechi not even reviewed for a penalty today as well. KDB no pen, Praet definite pen. Football is a very strange game when you try and think logically.
  14. Kasper has been fantastic for the club. Corners are his weakness and always have been. His shot stopping is great and been and may still is one of our best players. For those mentioning replace Kasper. I would like us to go for Pope at Burnley. I think he has all attributes to be a superb gk for many years for us. Admittedly will cost around 35-40m.
  15. Looking very good recently, he always creates so many chances with his direct running with the ball. Add an end product and he is easily capable of 10 goals and assists a season. As with most of the team below par over christmas, but has a lot of potential. Traore at Wolves was poor for a few years now one of the best wingers in the league arguably. Barnes has potential to do very well too.
  16. Very valid point. But surely we can not begrudge someone who has set his families life up for generations for one or 2 seasons. He was champions league final with Atletico before the move, still a superb player. Maybe a tielemans style loan with view to permanent could get the job done. We can see if he has the desire to still play champions league (hopefully) football or if he has lost his motivation now lot of money.
  17. Wonder who would win this Liverpool side or Vieira Arsenal Unbeatable team. Both made the league look easy.
  18. Agreed, also doesn't help how long between giving the penalty and taking the actual kick. Lot of time to change your mind.
  19. Correct and thanks for writing, potentially add Vardy Calf injury..
  20. Christmas break is one of the best parts of the season for UK fans. Helps build the premier league as all major European leagues are closed. I would remove the 'West Ham fixture' on the 28th I think it was. And keep the other 3 games over this period.
  21. With Morgan on the bench, potentially we have gone 433. With Chilwell LW and Perez on the Right. With Maddison supporting Kelechi.
  22. BBC Gossip says spurs want Ricardo for 30m. Do they just make up their figures same as they create their stories. AWB went to United for 50, Ricardo is better surely minimum 60 million.
  23. Kaspers comments after the game, very likely he will get a 1 game ban. Even though he was probably justified with his comments. Liverpool were outstanding, we were set up poorly. How can you give Trent so much space and time on the ball without any pressure. From the first few seconds we were passing aimlessly and looked like we lost before kick off. Far too much respect show, albeit to a wonderful side. Should never play 4 cm in the same team, they get in each others way. Ndidi was the best of a bad bunch, he was often ahead of tielemans and Praet and Maddison. Maddison on the wing should never happen again, I hoped after united away Rodgers would know that. Always should play your best side, even in defeat we learn. Today looked like a team and certainly midfield who had no idea where to be. They switched play superbly and so often, moved the ball quickly in central areas. hopefully we can put it right against West Ham. Cup semi final and 2/3rd in league tomorrow night. Still superb position and lots to look forward too.
  24. Exactly, and we got outclassed, correctly put, by a team put together for mega millions and who won the league 2 years running. No shame in that. We have played most top sides away already - Liverpool / Man City / Chelsea and United and still sit 2nd in the league with a good chance of a cup final.
