  1. Thanks for posting. Looks a very talented player. Left footed and plays on the right. Could be just what we need. Link up with Ricardo could do well. Personally would go for Brooks if we had the choice, just my opinion but Trincao looks very good. If this is the type of player we are after then maybe I have been very wrong with thoughts and ability for Rodgers and Congerton in the transfer market.
  2. Completely agree. I would try get a player in from Chelsea as well as part of the deal. RLC has been mentioned would be ideal. I would like to go for Callum Hudson Odoi, for whatever reason Lampard does not play him but he is a very talented player who could thrive in our team. Cash and a player I think we could do well out of this deal. And use some of the money for a left back and winger. As full backs are key to how we play. JJ can fill in if needed as I am sure he played for Luton in that position.
  3. Looks a very talented player. Might not be a key starter for us at the moment but will definitely improve options from the bench. And with extra European games Cantwell will be a good player to have.
  4. Fits our model of signing young talented players with sell on value. Brooks has everything about him to be a superb signing for us. Barnes, Tielemans, Maddison, Ndidi and Brooks superb central midfield and attacking players there. Would be very happy with this signing.
  5. I understand what you mean. He has done what Mahrez did with us in his last season. Clearly does not want to be there. His stats have been poor but he is a superb player. He will improve our starting 11 but will cost 50mill plus. Zaha, Vardy and Barnes is a very good front 3. Barnes and Zaha can swap sides during games. Would be a great signing.
  6. BBC Gossip column mentioning John Stones worth 20 million, clearly not confident at Man City or wanted by Guardiola. Seems a reasonable fee, Rodgers is regarded as a very good coach to get the best out of him, we are missing Evans for first 3 games of season + European football too so he will get lots of games. If Man City can pay some of his wages so it is reasonable for our club this could be a good move.
  7. In the years since Top and his father bought our club it is incredible to think where we are now. I know we are highly frustrated and annoyed at the collapse second half of the season. On a positive note: - We are 5th - We have the top goal scorer in the league - Training ground to rival any club in the world - Increased stadium capacity coming next - Playing in Europe with a realistic chance of going far in this competition. Winner gets Champions league place! - We have gone from Mattock / Stearman / McCauley / Wellens / Matt Oakley to Chilwell / Ricardo / Soyuncu / Ndidi and Maddison. Half of our starting 11 are arguably worth north of 50million each. - Fans - Regularly free gifts / drinks / Merchandise / Clappers (some like and some do not but shows they care about the atmosphere that can involve everyone one of us in the stadium). - Our owners have done all of this without spending fortunes like other clubs. We have the best owners in the game.
  8. I completely understand your point and theory. However I would say we are not far off from having a superb attacking side ourselves. The top sides wider players can all rotate which makes them so hard to mark but overall Firmino / Aguerro / Kane for example will stay centrally like Vardy does for us. As a club we don't have the resources to go and spend 70+ million each player on an elite front 3, or even attract those players to us. We have to develop them. Currently we might not have a front 3, but we can recreate this with our midfielders adding goals to their game. Tielemans and Maddison should be getting 5-10 per season. Barnes I believe has the potential for 12+ per season. He gets into brilliant positions just at this moment his finishing is not to a standard we would like. But every match he has chances to shoot or score. We desperately need a RW who is capable and I don't think we are far away from your point and having a very good front 3. If this new RW can play in the 3 forward positions and I think we will have a very good attacking side next year (Benrahma for example). Vardy is more than just a goal scorer, he will assist and is unselfish as well. We are very lucky to have him in our team and we are far better off for this.
  9. Personal opinion but I think sides reflect the characteristics of the manager. Thats the job of the coach. Red cards will happen but for both needless and daft is a huge problem. Soyuncu no need and a 3 game ban, now Evans 3 game ban for a poor tackle when he lost his head. Both of these instances occurred after Bournemouth during Rodgers decision to take Kelechi off and go negative, when you don't play your normal game it is easy to switch off and this leads to mistakes. Players capitulated from that moment. Why are we passing and playing out from the back without 4 key players in those positions. Why does Rodgers not change his tactics to suit his players who are playing and control the opposition. Hamza got caught, but would we really want him turning on the ball and looking to pass out. When we have 2 up top and a weaker midfield and defence surely, with United have a slow defence pretty much surely we go long and play over the top. Minimise risk. There is a reason Rodgers does not win big games. All a personal opinion of course, and there is a reason I am typing here and Rodgers is the manager who actually makes the decisions of our team. Very frustrating.
  10. Brendan has a lot to answer for.. From the exciting attacking football to the dross we have seen since January he has made massive mistakes and cost us Champions league. 5 wins in 22 is abysmal for our club. There is a reason his sides bottle it when it matters. We won 1 game against anyone in the top 7 all season and had poor results against the bottom 3. He never changes his style of play against anyone and this is where he fails. When frustration sinks in mistakes happen and our team lost their heads the past 3 weeks. Soyuncu and Evans red cards, Schmeichel mistakes in a couple of games. If this was Puel we would all ( a majority arguably) would be asking for him to be sacked. We are very loyal supporters which is why this hurts so much. Champions league places and the chance to enter this competition happens a handful of times in our lifetime, if we are lucky. We don't have the budget of other clubs. To lose our lead is shocking.. We have more matches, a lot of travel around European cities between league games and we have a very small squad. Rodgers and Congerton have done poorly in the transfer market as well. Which does not put us in a great position for reaching our teams potential for next season. Very well done to Vardy - Top scorer in the league is an incredible achievement.
  11. Would look at some players from Norwich and Watford primarily. Think all realistic. All fit in with our transfer profile - young, talented, can be coached, and resale value or sold for profit if improve as think they will do. Cantwell or - Eze (QPR) Can play 8/10 or wide if needed. Sarr - Massively need a decent winger. Lewis (If Chilwell leaves ) Demiral - CB- Key position we need. St - Mitrovic from Fulham if they dont get promoted. or Jovic on loan. Mitrovic a risk but his goals per game is decent and I think he offers something that we dont have as a striker. Bit of the nasty side about him as we can be too soft I fear. but talented as well. (Ings) would be my first choice but financially I can not see us affording him at the moment.
  12. At the moment I do agree we don't have the strength in depth to do well in League and Uefa Cup. I can see why Wes was given another year personally. He is good around the squad and training ground apparently. As we have seen last few games he can still do a job for a season, he knows his role will be 4th/5th place as well. Not easy to sign a player for that role. Coaching role is a good shout - he could do similar to Kolo Toure I guess and move into the coaching side. Rodgers I always gets the impression tries to over complicate everything when the basics work well and is very stubborn with his ideas and won't change to a plan B or make subs quick enough. He started out superbly but for a while now has been very limited, and tactically beat by Lampard, Ancelotti, Mourinho and Potter. Transfer window wise I would look at Norwich, Watford and sign 2-3 players to improve our side. Such as Cantwell / Sarr / Lewis. I think they will help both strength in depth but also ability to improve first team. A cb needed as well would be ideal. Demiral would be superb.
  13. I do agree we have been found out and Rodgers is not as good as he / we / the media thought he was. To stay in the top 6 next season will be incredibly tough. Arsenal, Wolves, Spurs will invest and get stronger. We have a superb training ground to rival any club in the world, European football, and the best owners in football. We have a lot going for us as well and have a huge summer ahead. Investment is key. I think we need a realistic marquee signing so to speak, to motivate and push everyone in our squad to improve.
  14. I do agree we are likely mid table next year which I will accept if we have a good European run. I would hate to become an Everton for example, and just be in the premier league but do nothing. We have been lucky to have lots of promotions, relegations, play offs, title wins last couple of decades which has been brilliant. You are correct, start of season we have achieved our goal, however 2020 on a whole has been a disaster for us, 5 wins in 21 is embarrassing for a club with our aspirations. We should have had champions league sewn up and not go into final game with anything to play for. But as we are Leicester we never do anything the easy way.
  15. What a player Jack Grealish is. His first touch and dribbling at speed is exactly what we need. Plus he works hard for the team off the ball as well. Would be a real statement of intent signing. Friends with Maddison and Chilwell apparently, European football for him next year as well. If possible, superb signing but would cost 70mill+ at a guess.
  16. Thank fully you are not in charge of the new kits.. I will be about 200 + pounds down as I would get all 3, they are superb! Well done.. Personally, Best Leicester shirts I have seen.
  17. Either of those figures are still far too much money. I think he could be a superb player for us, but those figures and wages are astounding for a young player.
  18. Bayern would have been a great move for him. Similar to Sancho but could have had experience of a league title or 2 depending when he went. If he chose money then definitely wouldn't want him here, financially motivated from 17 / 18 years of age is the wrong character. End of their careers fair enough, start of careers wrong attitude.
  19. Wow, didn't realise he was on that much. Superb potential but that is more than Vardy, and in first team football he has not done anything..
  20. Callum Hudson Odoi apparently not happy with his game time at Chelsea. During his youth career he was arguably the best player in England at those levels. If possible would definitely make a realistic bid for him. Very talented player, can be developed and potential to be a superb player in the league.
  21. Pochettino is out there, whether he would want to join us is another thing. Did not win at Spurs but made them one of the best sides in the country. Outsider - Jesse Marsh from Salzburg. Play very good football and excellent recruitment of players. He develops the younger ones and sells for massive profit. I still would keep Rodgers for now but these are 2 who I would suggest if he was to leave.
  22. I do agree he has had a bit of a down turn since Lockdown. Especially Bournemouth and Spurs. But I do think Rodgers tactics have done that. Going so negative when winning away at Bournemouth the players certainly lost motivation that second half. Spurs - We fell into Mourinho counter attack system perfectly, we push up with a very slow defence and got punished. The goals didn't come from Evans side mostly Bennett or Morgan not closer to Kane to block his superb through ball to Son. The only other player who comes close for me is Vardy. Top scorer but again he had a 9 game spell without a goal. Evans for me has been better throughout the season. Ricardo in with a shout until his injury as well as he was outstanding for us.
  23. Young Player of the season - Harvey Barnes- Always works hard, gets into good positions. Works on his finishing and composure and we have a player who will get 10+goals and 7-10 assists each season. Player of the season - Jonny Evans - Been brilliant all season, very underrated defender. Goal of the season - Chilwell v Watford - Superb strike from that angle. Great goal.
  24. I understand your point. I am open to judging the season as a whole and overall finish of 5th is superb, and definitely reaching above what I could have expected start of season. However the position we were in at Christmas ( largely due to Brendan's coaching and managing which was some of the best football I have ever seen us play) I just can not understand the second half of the season though and feel Brendan has failed massively with this part. If the results were more spread out over the season I could understand, but to be brilliant first half and very poor second half doesn't sit well. You can not turn form on and off which is my worry and this prolonged period of poor results 14th in the league based on stats, doesn't bode well for next season. We had an incredible opportunity to get champions league football, a new world class training ground to rival any club in the world, and with our brilliant owners be in a position to look to strengthen and try and solidify amongst the top of the premier league. I feel we have (depending Ours, Chelsea and United results ) missed an incredible opportunity to further push our club forward. I don't want to become a Watford and sack managers every few months as a club surely can not progress that way. I will fully support Brendan and the team.
  25. It's a tough one as statistically he has done very well and achieved all our targets for our club. However, stats can easily be misinterpreted. Look at match stats for example. Against Spurs we had 15+ corners but never had one effort on goal. We had far more shots at goal yet only really tested Loris with that nice volley from Perez. The rest of the game was extremely comfortable for Spurs. Even Mourinho said let them have the ball, get their defence higher up the pitch and we hit them on the break. That is coaching. We fell and played right into their hands. I agree our win ratio has been very good, but I would be more in support of Rodgers had performances shown something (like Sheffield United) rather than the dire negative performances v Brighton, Bournemouth, Everton, Watford which we see far too often. Celtic + Liverpool fans said he will start very well and then tail off. And this looks like what has happened here. Since Christmas he has won 5 in 21 and that is abysmal for our team. When does a blip in form become the norm? Worse record than 1 win in 4 with our players for me is awful. I certainly feel we have every right to questions Rodgers decisions. I don't want him sacked right now, and will fully support him and our team but we have every right to question what is going on when our form is 14th in the league.
