  1. Definitely can see your point on this one. Brighton and Bournemouth wins would have guaranteed us champions league football. Shocking tactics in both games gave us disappointing results. He is not an Elite manager at all. All managers go through bad spells, 21 games and 5 wins is not a bad spell.. Abysmal second half of the season. We have every right to question his tactics and subs.
  2. I do agree that could be the case. Personally I only want to see the manager getting the best out of our team regardless where we finish. Europe is brilliant but the second half of the season is very worrying.
  3. Just a question - Do you think we have become entitled? Expectations are higher due to the better players we have (of course I may be wrong) Personally I want to see the team I support play for the shirt. MON every team always played for us, and Pearson we can never question their performances. We are very loyal fans and we are always going to lose roughly 10 games per season. I just want to see our team play to their strengths and put pride in their performance for us. Technically we have arguably the best players we have ever had yet the basics and attitude does not seem to be the same. We capitulate too easily and the effort varies week to week. Of course we will not be at our best every game, however for 6 months something is wrong. Now I do think our best 11 are a superb side with good pressing, quick combination and attacking play. I do think we have one of the best sides in the country, yet since Christmas we are 15-16th. That for me is no way near good enough for our team.
  4. Great coaching. Recognised our weaknesses and exploited them. Rodgers surely should have known we have an ageing and slow defence so don't push up to the half way line and leave Son and Kane space in behind. We won our league title with those tactics. We didn't really play badly, created some nice chances. Just a weak defence got exposed with good tactics and playing to their attacking players strengths.
  5. I am sure you are very correct with this. Just a huge shame as we had a brilliant opportunity to improve starting 11 with one or 2 decent players and really go for champions league instead of settle and try and limp over the line.
  6. The training ground is going to be one of the best in the world from what I have read, and with this a higher calibre of player is more likely to want to join. Undoubtably that is superb for our club. However as we know we put a lot of money into Walkers stadium (at that time) from Filbert street and not the starting 11 and got relegated. Do you go for a long term asset or put towards better quality players. Its a tough one.. I would always go for players, but then we know it is easy to get that wrong and you end up with nothing. Our owners are very calculated and have done superbly with our club since their arrival. Thankfully I don't have to make any of these decisions.
  7. I fully agree the response at Sheffield United was excellent and a brilliant performance. I don't expect Rodgers to work miracles with the team we currently have available, but I do blame him for the poor form and lack of foresight into signings starting January when we could have signed better players than likely want to join us now. We didn't play badly today, we just got punished for every defensive mistake largely from one player. Perez could have scored, maybe another as well. We had a lot of corners but we don't attack corners or threaten from them. 15+ corners today I think, I can not remember one effort on goal from any of them. It was not a bad performance just a dull one as we have been accustomed too. Jose set his team up to counter us and we struggle to break teams down. You are very correct I would have taken 5th when he was appointed absolutely. But the performances since January are alarming, we are 15th in the league. I dont think we are capable of turning form on and off when we want. I do fear for signings especially from Brendan and Congerton. Plus start of next season, we know arguably more than any other club that ending one season can have a huge knock on effect for the next. Peter Taylor after Wycombe didn't win another league game, we finished mid table and then relegated following season. Pearson and then Ranieri, well we know that incredible story. And now.. He was 5 points ahead with Liverpool with 3 games left and lost the lead, and now with us lost a 14point lead to united and far superior goal difference. There must be a reason why when we get to the business end of the season his teams falter. I fully support Leicester and whilst Brendan is our manager I am fully behind him. But I do feel we are and should be allowed to question his decisions.
  8. I get your point and like your show of support for our manager. However why need to get a grip for wanting this manager sacked? Regarding injuries - Yes this is very difficult especially when have a small squad. Why did we not sign anyone in January? Why did he play Maddison at half time when 2-0 down away at Everton clearly with an injury and aggravate it further. Bennet - Yes a liability but Rodgers and Congerton signed him.. Soyuncu is a rush of blood to the head but the manner of performance stems from the manager. Starting second half negatively lead to so many mistakes. He got pushed and of course Rodgers not to blame for the red but having a negative approach and losing a winning position doesn't help. We were so far ahead come January, yet the style of football has completely changed. We have only really had injuries since lockdown started, and our form was equally as bad from January to start of lockdown. There is a right to question Rodgers for his decisions.
  9. I agree with all there, just Gray I would keep unless we sign a decent winger Sarr / Delofeu for example. He is so inconsistent but as we have seen when subbed on recently he can create things.
  10. If Rodgers continues with the 352 - Ings would be perfect with Vardy. I mocked the price of 20 million when Southampton signed him from Liverpool. I did not see this form coming. What a striker he has been now injury free and getting consistent game time.
  11. Decent team. I would have Evans over Soyuncu. Plus I dont think Grealish should be in a team of the season. Very talented undoubtedly but in team of the season I don't think he comes close. - Mahrez has been outstanding - Ndidi has been incredible, biased maybe but there is no better ball winner defensive midfield in the league. - Traore every time watched Wolves he has looked dangerous and always does something. - McNeil from Burnley has done very well and offered more than Grealish.
  12. Completely agree. Soyuncu gets a lot more attention maybe due to Maguire replacement and his style of play. Arguably why we got Evans for only 3 million when no one was really looking at him. He does the basics outstandingly well and for me has been the best central defender behind VVD this year.
  13. I think he has shown football up to be honest. Everyone talks about tactics / formations / style of play. Sheffield United have a very solid 352 but Wilder insists that everything starts with hard work. Nowadays coaches get lost thinking about their coaching philosophy and having to play exactly that way. Sheffield United and Wilder have been brilliant this season.
  14. Superb result and more importantly a brilliant team performance. Guaranteed European football is superb.
  15. Both our clubs can attest to this. VAR brought in to get the correct decisions which sounds brilliant in theory. The problem becomes when the user of VAR is actually another referee who wants to agree with the on pitch referee. You have had some very harsh decisions go against you, from Christmas we have as well. There needs to be some consistency. Great goal by Jimenez, superb player you have there!
  16. Personally would keep him. He is a very good finisher if we can get the ball to him. His first touch and hold up play under pressure is not the best admittedly, but as a finisher he is very useful to have. Every time he plays he always seems to create or have shots on goal. I certainly would not sell him before a season in Europe with all the extra games.
  17. We do have to wait but unfortunately I dont have much faith in their signings. Celtic fans warned us, Liverpool they did sign Coutinho and Sturridge, but then wasted 100+ million. they have signed JJ, Praet, Bennett and Perez + confirming Tielemans. Perez I can not understand at all. I do think he is a decent player in played behind Vardy. But I can not understand why sign him to play rw when he has no attributes for a winger, skill, crossing, speed for instance. Surely sign a rw for the role. I get your Jekyll and Hyde comment, however 19 games of excellence followed by 20 of lifeless displays leaves a lot to be desired. If it was a bad 3-5 games I can understand, everyone has a slump, almost ( bar Liverpool this year) but for 19 second half of the season matches when it matters to perform such a low standard something has gone on. Injuries have not helped, but Until Ricardo injury v Villa we had injury free and we were still losing then. I don't get being in 3rd place gives us hope of Champions league football in the future. I am sorry, but for me this is our only and best chance. We were 14 points ahead, All the other top 4-6 sides can spend millions and we are back to mid table. This is why I am so frustrated at our second half. It is not just the bad form now, it is the knock on effect for the next few years. Chelsea already sent 80million, Man City we know what they will do, Man Utd will spend fortune and then we can not compete. I can not see a chance like this again and for Rodgers to let it slip is extremely poor. Lack of signings in January cost us and potentially his job. There was a show called Dream Team going back years now, I always felt we are the real life vision of this. It is certainly never dull supporting our side and as you said full of a roller coaster of emotions.
  18. I get your point regarding a clanger for Shmeichel can happen at any point, but I think whatever went on at half time and the sudden laboured negative defensive approach start of second half is the reason for the numerous mistakes. Mistakes usually happen when not concentrating and the whole second half we were extremely sluggish for whatever reason.
  19. I do rate Maddison, but agree his corners are poor. Interesting to see since his injury we have been closer to scoring and tried to vary our set pieces. Fuchs cross / shot from a short corner was good to see.
  20. Agree one of the worst managerial decisions we have witnessed at Leicester. we had 11 shots to their 1 I am not sure what threat he was referring too. I do feel Rodgers could be sacked 10 games into the new season if he carries on with this form. I do disagree on Fuchs though, I think as a back up left back he is a good option to have around the club. Morgan I agree with, as a 4th choice cb as he has been this season I would have liked to see Benkovic have that place. We do need to improve the squad but we only can do this by signing players better than our current 11 and increasing competition for places. I don't think Rodgers + Lee Congerton are good enough if the transfer market to sign the players we need.
  21. Definitely agree with this. Rodgers doesn't realise that Iheanacho is the one who drops into the pockets to pick up the ball and is a huge part of how we attack. Before the Everton game we were poor as we had no options to break the lines. He might not have been great Sunday but he was getting the ball and having chances, keeping the ball in Bournemouth half. As soon as he came off we had no options to pass too.
  22. It's not a guarantee for Europa League, No Soyuncu or Ricardo for the rest of season. One of Bennett or Morgan will have to start. We have 3 very tough games remaining. Can easily see us picking up only 1-3 points in total in the remaining games. Wolves and Sheff United win 2 out of 3 and will go above us.
  23. I can see your point on both. Walsh was excellent for us no question about that. Personally, just think Elliot was the better defender. Maddison is far better on the ball than Lennon. But for someone of his ability his goals and assists are quite low. Izzet for me would do better in that role. And allowing Lennon and Ndidi will be a very strong central midfield to break down.
  24. Great side, Personally would have Neil Lennon and Matt Elliot in the side. Take out Maddison and Walsh, and let Izzet play higher. Lennon for me was a superb defensive midfielder. Alongside Ndidi I think that is a superb midfield.
  25. Its a tough one, as if you said start of season we would have taken 7th-5th. But our form since Christmas is 14th in the league. There are no signs he can turn this form around, tactically if things are not working he can not change the game in our favour. Bournemouth was awful as his plan A was working so well in fact, and he still changed it and made us, well, we all watched the second half. I think his reputation in the game is massively overrated. I have not seen any signs of coaching since Christmas. That is a huge worry, maybe it is too early to sack him. But if this was Puel we would all be saying time to sack him. Puel lost the dressing room, maybe Rodgers has too.
