  1. Part of a really good young side under Jock Wallace. Really enjoyed paying my £1 to stand and watch them in all weathers. The team was probably promoted too early, even though they were champions, although there were some great 1st division scalps (2-0 vs Liverpool being the best).
  2. The last one won't come - he'll be going underground.
  3. It depends on their age and standing, but some managers may see an appointment as our manager as a free hit. With the big headwind they'll have, if they succeed in keeping us in the Prem it will be a big gold star on their CV, and if they go down fighting it will probably do them no harm.
  4. Could be worse: Although he was a good manager for Notts County.
  5. Peter Taylor - we may be able to prise him from Maldon & Tiptree without too much compensation.
  6. Good point - I missed that in the title 🤪. They were good goals though 😀
  7. With the latest video technology and software (potentially with AI), so long as VAR is used for ofside decisions only, it should be possible to give virtually instantaneous feedback to the referee without any further human intervention. It is the conservative nature of the governing bodies that insist on this half cocked system with VAR assistants sitting looking at screens, drawing lines and then relying their own flawed assessment. Other offences (handball etc) should be left solely to the referee.
  8. Both of Antony Knochaert's goals against Huddersfield in Oct 2012:
  9. The Leeds fans are saying very similar things about their team and Farke's tactics (one dimension, no plan B). Ipswich fans are understandably a lot more satisfied with Kieran McKenna, despite their recent drop off.
  10. Its really hard to write this after supporting City for 55 years and living in Nottinghamshire for a good many of them, but I actually hope Forest smash the Everton cheats this weekend. What a season this will be if we break the 100 points, Everton have to pay us £100m in damages, and they are also relegated. That'll be some hat-trick.
  11. Great manager for us: exciting football, great camaraderie, and really interesting interviews. It amazes me how things went so bad for him at Derby, as I expected him to do good things for them. The Derby fans hate him.
  12. To be honest, were any of us excited about Claudio's appointment?
  13. Do any of us really know who will do well without some form of magical crystal ball? I, along with many fans, and certainly all the pundits, thought Claudio would be a total disaster. How wrong we all were. I was also uninspired when the great big Nige took over after the disaster that was Holloway, who actually then went on to work wonders with Blackpool. It's a funny old game.
