Probably just repeating what the guy next to him said

It should be used to ensure funding is more equally spread through the leagues, for example, Burnley and Leeds going up this year means the PL sides get their leftover parachute payments, that should go to championship sides instead surely? As it's a sign of unbalance. Personally think we are more likely to see an 18 team PL than that happen!
-
Think this is a little harsh. 5 players 21 or under in his last squad, certainly gave Bailey Cadamarteri serious minutes last season. He's not proven on bringing players through for sure, but there's enough there for me to suggest he's not anti-young players.

Fabregas would be very good, he looks a remarkably inventive coach...but I have no idea why he would leave Como for us

Looking like Wolves will be his last match, id imagine Kingy in charge for Southampton at home with the hope we can end with a win or two from final 4 games and boost the mood around the place. -
I could get on board with this (not the Brussell part), can see us needing an extra centre back after a couple of departures. He'd be a sensible pickup at a good age
-
Kyogo Furuhashi from Rennes Richard Kone from Wycombe Mathias Kvistgaarden from Brondby Kasper Hogh from Bodo Glimt Rafiu Durosinmi from Plzen Adriano Bertaccini from St Truiden Yousef Salach from Cardiff
-
Yuito Suzuki from Brondby. Attacking midfielder, can also play wide, would be a great El Khannouss replacement if he moves
-
I'd love him here next season, but similarly at his wages and with his injury record, if he wants to move on it may make sense for both parties. Cannot see he hasn't given us great value in his years with us and seems one of the last ones left with high standards
-
Been keeping my eye on Kone, and like his talent but his goalscoring has dried up a little recently. Believe Wycombe rejected £6m in January, so I do wonder what price it would take, especially if they go up
-
It's a fair point you make on Souttar @Finnegan. Personally, I think he's more than good enough to get us up, and then we improve when back in PL and we can entice a better standard of CB. I also think he's easily capable of 5 goals from set pieces next season. You're bang on about Winks, he was a rolls Royce last season. Think people downplay how good Mavididi was last year too.
-
You won't find a better centre back in the air than Souttar, similarly, if you want someone cultured alongside him, Nelson is your man. Could be a really dominant partnership.

You look at the sides likely to go up, and maybe Leeds if they hugely invest (can they?), but i don't fancy Burnley despite their good defensive record, and i don't feel any in the play offs could cope any better than us, saints and Ipswich have. -
There's an easy scenario where we don't have much interest in our players and go into it with Hermansen Ricardo Nelson Vestegaard Justin Winks. Ndidi Fatawu. El Khannouss. Mavididi Daka Whilst long term, it won't help us at all, a competent coach wins the league with that side.

Kjetil Knutsen

Kasper Hogh from Bodo Glimt. Good presence, calm finisher and really smart movement in the box. Captain at 24 suggests a good personality too. 7 goals in europa league shows he shouldn't struggle moving to a higher level than Norwegien Eliteserien. I'd be eyeing up his coach Kjetil Knutsen too.

Hermansen Ricardo Coady Okoli Justin Skipp Ndidi McAteer. BEK. Mavididi Daka A lot of players i just never want to see play for us again. -
Lee Carsley? Backs youth, likes creative wingers, streetwise enough to know we'd need to strengthen defensively if promoted?
-
Not often a club dominates league 1 like they have and doesn't do well in the championship. Plus there's not much known about their spending power next season. I don't expect them to be automatic hopefuls, but I didn't expect Ipswich to be last year. Similarly, can really see them being in the play offs.
-
Agree with this, Sunderland are getting transfer windows consistently right. Have a good young base of a squad and have a good coach. I expect Ipswich win it relatively comfortably next year and for it to be between us, Saints, Sunderland and Birmingham for 2nd place. Presuming Top 3 go up as is, which is unlikely
-
I'm at huge Poku fan, just don't see where he fits unless Monga goes and we look at Alves as more of a number 10? Doughty, defensively is nowhere near PL level, and I'd look to improve if we went up. But for a team dominating possession, his delivery could be a huge asset for us, similar to Leif Davis at Ipswich really.

Could probably post one of these every week, but will try and keep it to a monthly thing. (New signings in bold) Goalkeepers - Stolarczyk, bring in an experienced backup. Sell Mads (if we get a decent offer, if not, he's first choice over Stol). Ward and Iversen get released. Full backs - New RB, Coulibaly, New LB, Thomas. Sell JJ and VK, allow Ricardo to go back to Portugal (should he wish). I'd go for Alfie Gilchrist as the new RB, with Alfie Doughty from a relegated Luton at LB. Centre backs - Nelson, New CB, Vestergaard, Souttar (Unless Coady has to stay) Okoli back to Italy, maybe a loan. Faes gets sold. Hopefully we can shift Coady too. Matthew Pollock at Watford would be my shout for new CB Centre midfielders - Winks, Skipp, Hamza, Braybrooke and one newbie. Sell Wilf and Bouba. Bring in Lennon Miller from Motherwell. Wingers - Fatawu, Mavididi, Alves, McAteer, Monga. Self-explanatory, hopefully Monga sticks with us. Shift out BDCR and Ayew by any means necessary. Attacking Midfielder - I think BEK heads out to Europe, but hopefully I'm wrong. If I'm right, it's the one position where I'm unsure on replacement. Centre Forward - 2x newbies and Jake Evans. Yes I know Evans is probably more of a winger but think both he and Lorenz Hutchinson could be good squad options next year at CF. Sell Daka, time for Vardy to try a final chapter elsewhere. Obvious new signing for me is Richard Kone at Wycombe, although I'm becoming increasingly unsure on him. My ambitions signing would be Kyogo Furuhashi who has not settled at all at Rennes, and whilst he's at an age where we wouldn't see resale value, he would easily bag 15-20 for us in the championship. Other potential signings could be Mathias Kvistgaarden or Josh Sargent. Potential starting 11 of: Stolarczyk Gilchrist Pollock Nelson Doughty Winks Miller Skipp Fatawu. Mavididi Kyogo

"It was an excellent performance" It wasn't, it was still defensively poor, we just had to actually have a period of time where we were the better side. It was a close to average performance, it just shows how far we've dipped under that level since we played Brighton at home (Spurs away aside) -
Any info on where Aluko plays? Kind of player he is etc?
-
Exactly this. Winks and Skipp would be the best central midfield pairing in the championship this season. Just need a competent coach and we should easily be top 3 or 4 next year
