I find this tough to believe when we have given all our last 3 managers (including Cooper) more control than 90% of other clubs in the Championship/PL allow their managers. Plus, he worked at Chelsea and Brighton - two clubs where managers have little control over anything off of the pitch.

Not keen on midfield 3 of Winks, Skipp and Ndidi but we need Ndidi's height and combative nature against a physical Everton side. Can't drop him after how he played on Saturday either.
What's likeable about someone who drops his best players, takes us away from a good style of play and then blames refereeing decisions for his own short comings?
All of our defenders apart from Thomas have been apart of their countries national team set-up at senior level. It’s decent for a side in our position.
Surely there must be some sort of insurance against injuries in Chelsea's favour with these contracts?
Hypothetically, if Jackson has a career ending injury next season, surely he's not on their pay roll until 2033 still?
Why pity? It's clear from Rodgers, Maresca and Cooper (his comments in the press about signing premier league experienced players) that our board are giving too much control to managers. It's his own doing.
Yeah, to be honest you're probably closer to the mark with that assessment.
It's more like we've gone from a style of play that encourages being bold and confident to one that inhibits confidence instead.
