  1. This has become an early ‘must win’ for both sides, but a draw seems more likely. They’ve clearly not started well but shouldn’t be underestimated either, can’t really imagine ourselves leading by two at Villa with Cooper’s tactics so far. That first win is even more important with Arsenal away after this one.
  2. It's been that way for years as well I would say, and broadly speaking it seems like the overall mindset within the Trust needs to change, which means new people coming in who have fresh impetus. That's not to say the Trust haven't improved recently but feel like that's more because of external criticism.
  3. The club probably don't like what Southampton have done, because it shows what can be achieved in the same style of stadium. It's highly doubtful they would have thought in these terms, but Preston away last season should have been looked upon as inspiration of what can be achieved by having an 'end' behind the goal. Granted, Preston was a one-off but the current setup means that level of atmosphere cannot be replicated at home games.
  4. Just to add to the recent talk about 22/23 and echo what has been said, it was an unforgivable relegation and a decline which never should have happened. Everton should have gone that season, and arguably, would be in a better place now albeit not financially.
  5. Just hope Saturday isn't a repeat of the May 2022 defeat, before that game Everton hadn't won away since the previous August. Coming into this one, they haven't won away in the league since December.
  6. It's striking to me not just in these meetings but in general, the lack of opposition to clappers. They would never have taken off at other clubs because they have more pride in their reputation. Add to that those who complain about the Tifo's, and it builds a picture of the match-going fanbase, which has been in a sorry state for years.
  7. Views on Cooper as a manager aside, it's good that he's willing to attend these meetings. In that respect, it's one of the benefits of having him here and what makes him different to most managers.
  8. So given that BDCR hasn't returned to training yet, Mavididi might well start. Let's hope so, although Cooper did say this: “Some have had some long travel as well. Bobby [De Cordova-Reid] is still not with us because of his schedule, we’ll see him tomorrow, but it’s no disadvantage really."
  9. Think this will be a 3-2 defeat. So far Cooper's approach seems to be conservative, so it's unlikely that Mavididi will start especially as it's away from home. To echo the sentiments already though, there has to be a balance in terms of attacking threat and Mavididi offers that, in fact this game could be ideal for him.
  10. Fair enough if that happens to be the case. I could be mistaken, but seem to recall Cardiff away last season had a designated seating area/block which was stood during the game anyway.
  11. I'm well aware that we have fans at the front who sit down at away games, but the amount varies and can hardly be called swathes. Although it does depend on the away ground to an extent.
  12. This probably has to be said because of the regulations but in reality, this won't be the case will it? Any visiting team isn't going to have a block of away fans all sitting down.
  13. Believe me, I'm still very much aware that signing players like these indicates how far the club has fallen. It's just a case of dealing with the reality of the situation we find ourselves in.
  14. Fair point, can only hope he realises his full potential here.
