Amin Posted 4 May 2015 Share Posted 4 May 2015 I won't be getting this until early June when I get the last of my coursework done and it's going to feel like the longest month ever. It's the first game I've been properly hyped for in years. It looks almost perfect.
Brenfox Posted 4 May 2015 Share Posted 4 May 2015 Not really followed this game at all. What makes it any different to every other driving game?
Neil_LCFC Posted 4 May 2015 Share Posted 4 May 2015 I've been a member or whatever you call it since this launched on PC and have been playing it on and off for the last year or so. I currently don't have it installed as I was running out of space on my PC until I added an extra 1 tb hdd. It looks and plays fantastic I just wish I had a better PC to do it justice. I will have to download the final version now it is about to be released and hope it has been better optimized as I was struggling to play it at decent frame rates. I read the other day that the console versions run it at roughly medium settings on PC with some things set at high. It looks incredible on ultra PC settings but then you'd need to throw a lot of money at it to have it looking so good.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 4 May 2015 Share Posted 4 May 2015 Community assisted development with the focus very much on simulation, you don't really get many of those these days. But my main complaint is that in a game called Project CARS Alpine A450 Ariel Atom 300 Supercharged Ariel Atom 500 V8 Aston Martin Rapide S Hydrogen Hybrid Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Aston Martin Vantage GT4 Audi R18 TDI LMP1 Audi R8 LMS Ultra Audi R8 V10 Plus BAC Mono BMW 1 M CoupÈ (E82) BMW 320 Turbo Gr.5 (E21) BMW M3 Gr.A (E30) BMW M3 GT (E92) BMW M3 GT4 (E92) BMW Z4 GT3 Caper Monterey Stockcar Caterham Seven Classic Caterham Superlight R500 Caterham SP/300R Ford Capri Zakspeed Gr.5 Ford Escort RS1600 Ford Focus RS Ford Mustang Boss 302R1 Ford Mustang Cobra SCCA TransAm Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth Gr.A Formula Gulf 1000 Ginetta G40 Junior Ginetta G55 GT3 Ginetta G55 GT4 Gumpert Apollo S Lotus 49 Cosworth Lotus 72D Cosworth Lotus 78 Cosworth Lotus 98T Renault Marek RP219D LMP2 Marek RP339h (PM 06a) LMP1 McLaren 12C McLaren 12C GT3 McLaren P1 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evo2 DTM Mercedes-Benz 300SEL 6.8 AMG Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X FQ400 Oreca 03 Nissan Pagani Huayra Pagani Zonda R Palmer Jaguar JP-LM Radical SR3 RS Radical SR8 RX Renault Clio Cup Renault MÈgane R.S. 265 Ruf CTR3 Ruf RGT-8 Ruf RGT-8 GT3 RWD P20 LMP2 RWD P30 LMP1 SMS Formula A SMS Formula B SMS Formula C SMS Formula Rookie SMS Kart 125cc (Kart01) SMS Superkart 250cc (Kart02) There really aren't many cars in it for a game releasing in 2015, good as twice as many tracks as card. No Honda, Toyota, Alfa, Dodge, Chevy, Ferrari, Lamboghini, Jaguar, Koenigsegg, Lancia, Maserati, Mazda, Nissan, Porsche or VW. Now IF the game plays as good as it looks I'll be happy to over look all of that, given the extensive game modes, but it's definitely raised my eyebrow,

Amin Posted 4 May 2015 Share Posted 4 May 2015 Not really followed this game at all. What makes it any different to every other driving game? As a Gran Turismo fan, Project CARS has many features that I've wished to be included in GT for years. Huge grids (up to 57 on PC, 40 on consoles iirc) Multi class endurance races Full Endurance races up to 24 hours (this was taken out of GT6) Career progression based on results, rather than grinding XP and credits Fully customisable race events On top of this, we get an amazing assortment of race tracks, including 5 British tracks, with more on the way. Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 4 May 2015 Share Posted 4 May 2015 They are releasing a free DLC car every month. 1 a month isn't exactly spoiling people. I just don't like so many manufacturers have been omitted. I'm looking forward to it and I'm getting it and I'm not meaning to shit on it but I'm speculative about certain areas of the game. I don't think it was a choice to omit so may manufacturers, I would imagine that licenses are hugely expensive and being a relatively small studio costs may be an issue. Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 5 May 2015 Share Posted 5 May 2015 Yeah I understand that but the roster is the roster, I'm not really interested in how it comes to be or why it doesn't fact is I find that car list hugely uninspiring.

Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 5 May 2015 Share Posted 5 May 2015 Look at the trophies! Think you're looking at well in excess of 100 hours to plat/1000g, maybe treble that depending on how long the championships are. http://www.projectcarsgame.com/home/project-cars-achievement-trophy-list I'm getting it on PS4 next Wednesday, give them a few days to iron out inevitable kinks. Slightly larger grids and no restrictions on steering wheels. I might end up getting it on PS4 as well if enough of my friends get it.

Amin Posted 5 May 2015 Share Posted 5 May 2015 I hope the AI on Project Cars will not be rubber banded, just like it was on Driveclub. I've not seen or heard of any rubber banding. The ai is one of games strong suits. This video shows how hard, but fair, the ai are: Another thing I like about the ai is that you can set the difficulty as a percentage, rather than picking an arbitrary difficulty setting. So for example, you can start at 50% difficulty and slowly increase it until you find a sweet spot for your own skill level.

As long as we get the game we anticipated it to be then I'll be happy.
