Maybe an odd question but it is car related. What's the best product to use to clean windscreens etc inside and out. I've tried a few things between the generic glass cleaner stuff and Simoniz and Autoglym. All claim to be smear free but they aren't. When the sun gets a certain angle on my windscreen it looks hazy.

Maybe @Izzyis the man in the know.

I use GTECHNIQ G6 perfect glass myself, but the key is also to use a proper glass cleaning/waffle weave towel.

If you also clay bar or 0000 grade wire wool first, that's a good way of removing any ingrained dirt (and you can also polish them using something like GTECHNIQ G4 first)

Here's a couple of YouTube video's on how to best clean your car windows from some detailers that I follow

Have you heard of "Pink Stuff"? We have some at home to clean porcelain sinks and glass oven hop. Is that what clay bar is?

It is a beauty of a car, especially having watched the auto trader reviews

I was thinking of taking up @tom27111 on speaking to his manager at Bedford but having seen the price i may wait@tom2711

Well if you're thinking about it, I can put you in touch.

There's room for manoeuvre on list prices.

And the price is only going to go up, like everything else, but once you've ordered, the price is fixed.

We had quite a bit of that. People would come in and have a drive of something, get figures and say they need a couple of weeks to think.

They come back a few weeks later and it's 60 quid a month more!

I have heard of Pink Stuff yes, but never used it myself. I've heard people use it to clean their chrome exhaust tips with it so I can't see why you couldn't try it on car glass?

A clay bar is a bit like putty and when wet it 'lifts' ingrained contaminants off glass (or paintwork). They now make a clay 'mitt' which does the same thing.

Either way, you can try and clean car glass all day long but unless you're starting from a bare naked and contaminant free surface, you'll always get smears/hazing

There's quite a few forms of Pink Stuff I think?

A spray, a tub of paste and a bar.

Are you cleaning the interior or exterior glass?

Inside, you can't go wrong with a standard household glass cleaner, or a bit of white wine vinegar.

Outside, if you can get hold of some of the stuff you use on a glass shower guard, it'll make the water bead up nicely and run straight off.

That's basically what they use on the glass when you pay 400 quid for paint protection at a car dealer. It's effectively like putting scotchgard on it.

This is the stuff...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185448845173?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=kw4VVGsUTmW&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=uTto4Yx1TAO&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

If you've got your windscreen as clean as possible and streak free, that'll put a "film" over it and disperse the water better.

It does work, I had all the valeters left over for my car, sod paying hundreds for it!

You tarting up the MG @Parafoxlol

I use Autoglym Fast Glass. The key is to give the windows a general clean first to get rid of the dirt and grime, then use the Fast Glass with a fresh clean waffle or microfiber towel. You can even get really fine weave specialist glass towels too.

I generally use RainX if I want to treat it after, but it can be a bit hit and miss for leaving smears when you use your wipers with it.

I've heard good stuff about all the G-Technic products.

I'm a big fan of G-Technic. I use their G1 glass coating and it repels rain superbly. At high speeds on the motorway in the rain I don't even need to use the wipers sometimes.

Also use their C5 alloy coating which makes maintenance cleaning a piece of piss. And their C4 plastic trim restorer is amazing.

I'd highly recommend all their products.

I wouldn't use Pink Stuff on glass or anything that might scratch easily. It's heavily abrasive compared to many household cleaners and you're asking for trouble IMO (it'll ruin your non-stick pans, for example)

I use Meguiar's Perfect Clarity and a glass cleaning cloth after a good wash and wax. Works perfectly.

For my chrome tips (ooh err) I use 0000 wire wool and Autosol. Shines them up a treat.

Ioniq 5...

Questions.

1. Can it be charged from a normal household power socket? (Thinking while staying in a cottage on holiday for example)?

2. Are there any Government incentives to buy electric vehicles? Or have they withdrawn them all?

3. Best price for top of the range model... to buy outright?

1. Yes, but incredibly slow charge. Would probably take 24-36 hours to achieve full range.

2. Only on vehicles under a list price of 30kish. And it has been vastly reduced from the initial 5k original government grant.

3. Not sure, but I could hook you up with someone who would give you the best price.

Just on grants and stuff, if you live in rental accommodation, I believe you can still get a grant for a home charger. If you own your own home, they've completely stopped.

Thanks...so you can charge at a holiday cottage for instance, say overnight, and get an additional 30-40 miles the next day?

Would be interested in getting a quote to buy one!

Yeah, but you might need to buy a 3 pin plug charger. I'm 95% sure they aren't standard with Hyundai

You're correct, they're not standard, but I got one online for £120, there's loads about. The 3 pin ones give you about 2kW per hour charge, so about 6 miles of charge per hour.
