There was a proper Mustang in the showroom and it's £10k cheaper.

Shame about the slight issue of 12 mpg!

I was drooling over that! But yeah, I’m not up for paying £200 to drive 5 miles quite yet.

We had one in at one of my old places a few years ago.

Fired her up, fuel gauge went up to show half a tank and then the warning light pinged for 50 mile range remaining lol

Went for a look today, had my heart set on a golf but I’ve had my head turned by those Seat Arona’s. Reasonably priced by the looks of it too, even for the FR’s.

You going brand new?

I've got a mate who is the Seat sales manager at a main dealer.

Let me know if you've had any quotes, I'm sure he'll do his best to beat it, I know the Hyundai manager at the same site sorted out @Bellend Sebastian with a better deal than anywhere else.

Anyone given you a lead time? They ain't pretty at Seat. It seems the VW Audi Group are prioritising other brands over anything Seat makes.

For example, if you ordered a Leon within the last 12 months, it's never coming. Ever lol

Planning 2nd hand mate as I can’t quite believe the value. 18/19/20 plate cars with less than 20 thousand miles on the clock for about 14/15k. I think new id be paying at least 10k more there to wait for, as you say, ever - and I reckon I’d get about 2k part ex for mine at the minute fingers crossed.

You'll definitely get more value for money than on a VW.

Even a nearly new 21/71 plate ex-demo will save you a fortune, depending on how you're paying for it.

If you're financing, especially on PCP, it can be cheaper to buy brand new, believe it or not.

Have a look on www.motorvogue.co.uk and if there's anything you fancy, give me a shout and I'll put you in touch with the sales manager

I keep looking at DB9s for less than £30k. My wife's 3008 cost more, they have the same number of seats and leaves me questioning my life choices.

It's true, amazing he did a deal AT ALL,  literally nobody else would on the car I wanted.

In other news, got taken for a quick spin the other day in my mate's Tesla Model Y.  Very quick for such a chunky car, and much more interesting to look at than a Model 3. Driving an ancient car as I do, the technology would take some getting used to - the reality of having virtually everything controlled by that massive touchscreen would really change your habits, but it makes for a really clean,  uncluttered interior.

Also worthy of note is that as a car from stock from a leasing company he got it in a matter of weeks, rather than having to wait the best part of a year which you seem to have to do for most electric cars at the moment

Bloody hell, what is it and how do you think they took it? Was it electronic trickery of some sort?

Fiesta ST2, 13 plate.

Keyless start that cuts out when the car isn’t near the key, so must have had a cloned key. £550 excess, goes down as my fault on insurance and it was a low miler (49k) so I will probably get low balled by the insurance. Need to find examples ready for the insurance company, but can still see it costing me 2k ish over the next 5 years (excess & higher insurance).

Just filled up with petrol and done a shop aswell, ***** even took my cookie crisp that were for breakfast tomorrow lol

Was exchanging a t shirt in Flannels, was gone probably 20 minutes or so.

That's crap, that is, especially about the Cookie Crisp. There's always a chance it'll turn up, fingers crossed it does and without being completely f#*ked up

Never bought a car before, can you negotiate on PCP?

Any tips for a first time middle aged car owner?

Hoping to buy an automatic just for ease, no more than £250 per month but ideally arpund £200.

Dont give a shit about it how cool it looks

You can negotiate anything.

The price of the car and the PCP finance agreement are two separate things. PCPs are almost infinitely variable based on cash price, deposit, etc. The best value PCP deals tend to be manufacturer subsidised ones on new cars.

Also, are you aware of the difference between PCP and HP / standard finance?

One thing I would say is that new cars are almost non existent at the moment and consequently overpriced. This has forced up the prices of used. Personally I’d recommend waiting six months until the supply eases.

Always enjoy watching Silverstone auctions and seeing what unique motors are up for sale.

Today saw a 1985 Ford Escort RS Turbo on the lot. Not just any Ford Escort RS turbo, but the one ordered and driven by Princess Diana.

This is what it went for :o

Had mine nicked from Fosse Park in broad daylight earlier, use trackers and a steering lock people

Finally got this sorted with the insurance yesterday, accepted their second offer and I should receive the payout next week.

Fancy an A class next, but reckon I'll just use my Clio 182 for 6 months whilst I wait for the market to settle down, see what's going on with mortgage, energy and inflation costs. In the meantime I can bash out loads of overtime and save up a little more money as well.
