GTA 6

Too early to start a thread? Thought it might be worth creating a thread for GTA 6 with fresh updates/news as it comes along, or just a general place to chat about the game. What new features would you like to see? Put all your thoughts in here...

There's many rumours for this upcoming game, which is expected to go into the collection of the GTA Series in the near future. It was suggested this could be released in 2018, however, it is now rumoured it could be ready for players in 2020 according to some sites. One of the strongest rumours is that Rockstar might include a world map which would combine all the maps from previous GTA's, into one game, which could be GTA 6. Imagine if we could re explore maps from previous versions, that would be very cool. It has also been mentioned London could be featured in GTA 6, which would be amazing to explore likewise.

Rockstar North president Leslie Benzie said: "We've got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do," he said. "We don't know what GTA 6 will be, but we've got some ideas."

A modern GTA:London would be ****ing incredible. Airport, tube, Thames, landmarks, black cabs etc. It has everything a gta could possibly want.

I remember a few years ago there was game called Getaway Black Monday, which was set in london, it was an okay game very similar to GTA. Problem with it the game though it was full of cliches. The alot people complained about the game freezing. Did anyone else play that?

Imagine walking along/being outside Buckingham Palace, or walking by the Houses of Parliament. GTA in London would incredible like you said. Especially with the graphics these days, they are top notch.

I've always dreamt of GTA UK or a game similar to that where it is solely based in England. Where you can travel to (any) place in the UK and just explore. Villages, cities, towns, sport arenas, drivebale country roads/motorways - an entire road system which links up like it does in real life. And much more.

It would be so great if a game like this happened and it has masses of potential...

Would just put a entirely different shift on the game. Even down to having totally different police cars. The Yank ones are the same all the time. Really needs freshening up. Plus sniping off the tower of London and Tower Bridge would be awesome.

The Getaway was a brilliant game. Never played Black Monday (which if I remember correctly was the 2nd Getaway game) but I loved the London setting.

GTA in London would be incredible. Not sure it can be done though. Not really sure what new stuff they could do with GTA6. As long as the missions are varied and the map is even bigger I would be quite happy to have a similar game to GTA5 with the same activities you can do.

I think Rockstar/other game makers have probably looked at trying to introduce England into GTA. It's the time aspect though, of course depending on whether they would include London into GTA 6 or as a separate game. If London was introduced as a separate GTA game, they'd have to make GTA 6 and GTA London which would take a while, but worth it IMO if the detail was done to the best potential. Not just GTA London though, I'd love to see a map of the United Kingdom where you can visit Wales, Birmingham, Leicester, Newcastle, Liverpool etc. Again, that would take a long time to implement, but it would be awesome.

No chance of that happening. If we ignore GTA2 (as Rockstar have, bit of an anomaly in the series), GTA 1's 3 cities of Liberty City, Vice City and San Andreas were all remade (in namesake at least, and the basing on New York, Miami, SF/Las Vegas) for GTA III, GTA VC, and GTA SA. The cities and areas from the GTA III trilogy (minus VC) were all re-imagined for GTA IV, GTA Chinatown Wars and GTA V - Rockstar wouldn't copy/paste from such recent games for a new instalment, they also probably wouldn't feel it worth revamping/reimagining such vast areas when the time could be put towards creating something brand new

A possibility would be a re-imagining of Vice City in the modern era, but it would need much more of a surrounding area than GTA VC

RDR2 is supposedly in the pipeline and there's rumours of Bully 2 as well

The idea of Bully 2 excites me, the first was an incredible game. With it not being as popular as the GTA series, I reckon it might be used as a bit of a testing bed for engine improvements (/new engine/physics etc) for GTA VI, wouldn't surprise me if this was quite far into development already

I think GTA VI will definitely be set in the USA still (possibly Canada), probably not one of the 3 areas already explored - probably featuring a mountainous region.

One thing that bothers me - I have a horrible feeling that the popularity of GTA Online means that this will be developed with more of a priority over the single player aspect of the next GTA game - or the 2 become one, and you can only play GTA VI online... that'd be shit, and entirely possible

GTA San Andreas was the best GTA I played I think. The map was excellent and there was so much to discover - Myths, Places, Islands and much more. What I did notice with GTA SA, If you wanted to travel to the countryside for instance, you knew you had to make your journey from the inner city suburb. Upon arrival it felt like you really were in a different location with different peds & different cars. The woods/forests as well, there were lots of myths about the forests & woods in GTA SA and when in there, again, it felt like you were in a unique place. You were more set away from the roads I noticed too...

I'd be delighted to see GTA SA remade for the Xbox One. It's the discovery aspect of GTA's which I enjoy.

I don't even know why this is even a thread, unconfirmed game not likely to be in the shops in four years time, it's like discussing what's gonna happen at the next Euro's. lol

I just hope they have hidden packages. Loved finding the hidden packages in GTA3. Never found the last 1. I was stuck on 98 for ages then found 1 at the airport. I was so excited when I hit 99 but alas the final package was nowhere to be found. Even using a guide I couldn't find the last package.

Still gives me nightmares to this day lol

Completely agree. GTA San Andreas is my favourite game of all time, by miles. Sure the graphics weren't great at the time (and are terrible by today's standards) and the physics of the newer games absolutely piss on what was capable back then - it was the sheer sense of scope and exploration that I loved. For every hour I was doing missions, I'd spend 10 just exploring the map - finding horse shoes, oysters, graffiti tags without a guidebook, occupying all gang territories, maxing out all stats, finally obtaining all golds in flight school, just finding farms and villages and looking for Easter Eggs and the like. The radio stations were perfect too, like listening to K Rose while wasting time just driving a beat-up old pickup round the rural areas - something as far removed from anything I've ever done in a video game before but completely enjoyable

GTA V was a great game and they nailed much of what San Andreas was good at, but it was still lacking a bit in terms of exploration - I never quite had the same sense of freedom, or felt the need to keep playing after I'd finished all the side-missions

Can't see Rockstar ever remaking GTA San Andreas (the game or the original map) - it'd be an absolutely massive task. The HD version was probably the end of that chapter

Bet it was this one

33, on a tiny rocky island south of Portland. I had 99 packages for ages and refused to use a walkthrough/other help. Spent at least a whole week just looking everywhere and couldn't believe the sense of relief when I finally found the last one!

Me and my cousin spent about a year looking for it. I was desperate not to use a guide but I caved in. Me and my cousin 1 by 1 went looking for it and when we got to 100 I couldn't believe I hadn't found it. I obviously made a mistake somewhere.

I agree with you on your previous post. GTA5 was great but once I finished the main missions I gave up on it. No real urge to carry on. GTA SA however was different. You could play for hours and still enjoy it like the first time you played it. I used to love going around with the jet pack and causing havoc. I also found myself spending a lot of time in the casino. Lazlo on the radio used to make me piss. Even though you had heard it all before I still found myself listening to it and knowing it word for word lol

Yep, spot on. GTA SA was magnificent for exploration, I played the game for about 7 years ish and still think there were aspects of the game I probably didn't discover. Some of the tunes on the radio stations were real class and listening to them all again brings back so many memories. Let's see if I can name some radio stations off the top of my head - CSR RADIO, K-JAH WEST, MASTER SOUNDS, BOUNCE FM, WCTR NEWS, K-ROSE, PLAYBACK FM. That's about all I can think of without doing some research...

Always wondered if they created a game with the graphics that GTA SA had on the current gen consoles what sort of size map it could have.

The whole map was fantastic IMO. All the islands offered a lot.

I played The Getaway on PS2 when I was younger. Great game.

I agree with Larry, a modern day London setting would be brilliant. Of course, they'd be cliches though - no doubt a gang representing the Kray Twins or something, for example - I don't get why we had GTA London on PS1 and then they never did an updated version!?
