To the tune of Sweet caroline

Jaaaames maddison - (duh duh duh)
He's scores goooaals every week - (so good so good so good)
Southgate thinks he's shit - (duh duh duh)
Take him to the worrrld Cup - (World Cup World Cup World Cup) or (Qatar qatar Qatar)
:scarf:

I don't care what it is at this stage but we need a song for Maddison! Not just a clap at every corner.

Still think this is the best option

Or a new chant to the tune of the Darts music

I'd like to see this too. The current chant, whilst cleverly worded and topical (given the England manager's stubbornness), never seems to gain any real traction.

Could we just try something simpler to the same darts anthem?

La la la la la

La la la la la

La la la la la la

MAD-DI-SON

and repeat as long as possible

(may not be the right number of la's?)

Do we really have to keep dumbing down chants? All our best have been longer than two lines.

I kind of agree, but I always feel disappointed when it's not as loud as Madders deserves. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a cracker too, but even a committed singer like me sometimes gets tongue tied with the speed of it. I know it's been said before,  but would more people join in if the tempo was a little slower?

I think I know what your answer will be already 😉

The current Maddison song is a cracker - No amendments required just more people singing it required

The fact that more people aren’t singing the UFS version with the words… probably means it’s not the cracker some people think it is.

Agreed with @Swalshed—plus just the darts-style singing is fine enough when you consider that most people can put two and two together and get the reference.

Superb! 😂

Take the “James” out and kick off with “Mad-er-son” (I know) to slow it down and you’d probably find most opposition supporters would probably join in, too 😂

Blackpool's new one has just basically gone viral on social media. Another one sung ahead of the rest in SK1, and no effort made by anyone else to join in.

Give it 2 weeks and almost every team in the country will be singing it.

What was ours?

He scores one with his left foot

And scores one with his right.

When he finally plays for England

He'll score all F***ing night

Love it...

Just change the third line to "And when he plays for England"

Would love to hear that at the stadium while Southgate is sat in the stands watching all the Man City players  Phil Foden.

Leicester City FC

They're the team for me

At home or away

On a Saturday

And repeat...

Got going quite well against Leeds, just a shame it’ll take 10 other clubs singing it and posting it on twitter for us to then follow as usual.

One of my favourite newer chants.

'Look what you could-have-won'

Chant to Newcastle to the tune of Bullseye if Maddison scores against them

Granted no one under the age of 30 gets the reference but still....

Smashing, great

Pretty bland lyrics on that one. Look at the creativity of the Blackpool one compared to this, there’s so much opportunity to be inventive with that tune.

Rangers version is also pretty bland and has been a staple in the songbook for half a decade

Complaints when a song is too simple, complaints when a song is too long and complex fuvk me🤣
