New chants and songs

Recommended Posts

Build a bonfire, build a bonfire put F****T on the top, put Derby and Cov in the middle and well burn the fookin lot

That's brilliant - I'm amazed we've never sung anything like that before.

We should do it while bouncing up and down while facing the back of the stands.

The thing is, "Forest", "Derby," and "Cov" are relatively intangible collective terms we use to refer to the business of the club itself, the fans, the football team, the geographical location etc, not really actual physical objects that could be jettisoned into a raging inferno.

Also this chant is older than football itself, and not very good.

I'd like to take issue with your point that the chant is older than football itself .

On what basis do you make this assumption ?

The chant is sung to the tune of "Oh My Darling, Clementine" , and the earliest record of this song is around 1885 ( so i deduce that the chant post dates this ).

The football league was founded around the same time , so the game itself is probably older ,

But I concede that they could be similarly aged :)
