First goalscorer of each calendar year? In which case it would be Jamie Vardy? Could be wrong though, don't remember us scoring much at the start of 2017...

I think you have the correct reasoning but the wrong player. It would be Ahmed Musa (in the FA Cup versus Everton).

we have a winner.

In the 1999/00 season Leicester City played in and won 3 cup ties at Filbert Street that were decided by a penalty shootout (2 in the League Cup vs Leeds and Fulham, and one in the FA Cup vs Arsenal). Which City player took (and scored) the first penalty in all 3 shootouts? And who were the only 2 City players who failed to convert their penalties during the 3 shootouts?

Matt Elliott for the goals? Walsh and Oakes for the misses?

Ok we are talking seasons from hell now, and we have had a few:

So which player had this nightmare, sent off twice on both occasions conceding a penalty, only for both red cards to be rescinded after shocking refereeing decisions. The same player also suffered a serious injury that season ruling him out for over 6 months. He also had a winning goal wrongly ruled out for offside.

Can you name the player and the season?
