Radio Leicester post match

Recommended Posts

Not been on no, but to be honest, would probably be better listening to the phone in callers rather than one of Puel’s post match interviews.

Didnt listen yesterday, but I understand it was another dull one.

My point stands (if you care to read it properly), he won’t get much chance to put things right due to his personality. It is a trait that will go against him when things go wrong.

I do understand your point about his softly spoken and somewhat dour personality, and also your point on how the vocal minority of our fans might turn on him too quickly.

Originally I was slightly underwhelmed by his appointment but my opinion FWIW is that I've been pleasantly surprised by what he has brought to the team so far albeit we are currently in a poor run of results.

Any manager needs time and I have faith that given that time to shape the squad with three or four of his own additions he will do a good job for us.

I think it will be more of a vocal minority when it happens.

Look at Pearson, I think his record was unbelievable versus the stick he received. That to a large degree was his personal style and attitude rather than football results. If it had been Jock Wallace in Pearsons position, he would have been untouchable.

Ok, I now get your point, I was misled by the original phrasing.

It takes a certain type of person to call into a radio station and these are usually always a bit weird.

Talksport is basically a repetitive collection of weirdos calling into to say "Great show, thanks for having me on" and then sprout some absolute shit.

To think someone will be driving in their car alone and think it to be a good idea to ring in to talk to some presenters that they believe are their friends is just bizarre.

Don't think there's better post-game analysts than Matt Elliot imo.

Very in-depth and often precise.

He spots things players spot, which can be great. But he seems to lack the confidence to share his own opinion, instead typically parroting what Stringer or the callers say. Would rather he be a bit less diplomatic, a bit more direct. "You're a right git mate, you haven't the foggiest." -- works for either callers or stringer.

I don't take Radio Leicester too seriously. It's good for information and I think Stringer has improved. Having said that, I think having two shows a week without the match is a bit much.
I don't listen to the matches live as I'm either there or streaming it.

Whilst Matt Elliott "in a roundabout way" is good on the forum and the post-match stuff, the boot-room is very boring without him. As much as I love the Birch, it's like listening to your granddad talk about Leicester.

Yes especially when the caller is ringing in from Brussels!

I'll get my coat.

More pre than post match, but Stringer just got rinsed on Talk Sport for asking Puel if he's excited about having small changing rooms where you can't fit everyone in

TalkSport can't even tell the 2 Steve Walsh's apart

Agree.

Boot Room us extremely dull.  Love the Birch but you are right, it's like listening to your grandad talk about LCFC for an hour.
