Chelsea Post Match 0-0

Tremendous performance today.

Had to stream, but first half to comprehensively out play chelsea at stamford bridge is highly inpressive.

Its hard to pick out individuals but mahrez at times was out of this world and vardy was hounding their back 3.

We had at least 3 good chances as well as mahrez perhaps with the chance to shoot across courtois rather than play the cross shot.

2nd hslf we dug in at times but our organisation levels were excellent even when down to ten i didnt feel like we would concede.

Only downside the red card. Chilwells recklessness could have left us in the lurch but thankfully it didnt

Super result and performance

We could of scored in the 1st 15mins, then sat back....

maybe it was better we stayed 0-0, meant we had a reason to keep on the front foot...

Arguably our best away performance of the season. The only thing missing was the goal!

Haven't looked that defensively solid since the title winning season imo! That too with none of those back 4 in our starting line-up :appl:

Can I also highlight how absolutely dreadful the home support was! lol They could barely string a chant together in the entire game. The true definition of "you only sing when you're winning"

Yes he was.

He was booked 5 mins earlier and flew into a tackle. By doing so he ran the risk of being sent off and was sent off.

Inexperienced rash play.

Simple reminder that Wilfred Ndidi is 21 years old and he’s just dominated a midfield of Fabregas, Kante and Bakayoko.

Sensational footballer, deserves to be mentioned alongside the best young players in the world. He’s ****ing superb and he’s ours.

Awaiting Abrasive’s weekly post trashing him

He was. Silly tackle

He was trying to reach the ball played across him and was not actually making a challenge on a player. Moses came from his blind side. There was no intention to foul the player - but the fact that he left the ground to try to intercept gave the referee the wrong impression. he was unlucky but not reckless.

As I put in the match thread, first half made me very proud.

But I’m not going to skirt around things that need attention....

For all our domination we’ve had one shot on target in 180 minutes.... this is a coaching/player issue.

Equally, and as has been the case many times over the last few seasons. We lost the ball today because of our goalkeeper.

Now I love Kasper as much as the next person, but he shouldn’t get away with the fact his kicking isn’t even up to non league standard just because of his second name and the fact he’s done well for us in the past. It’s 2018 and soon we’re going to have to let go of the majority of our league winning team, it’s tough but it’s simple facts.

Of course I’m not suggesting we get rid of Kasper now but we certainly need to look at options going forward and the coaching of two key positions, Strikers and Goalkeepers. Our GK coach stowell is still here because he’s quite literally part of the furniture, but I think we’re crying out for a change there!

As for a striker coach, the last time I remember having anyone specialising in that role was Kevin Philips. Perhaps time we looked for a specialist again?

Absolutely loved some of the football on display today and so pleased with the point. But if we want to start aiming for three points we need to address clear issues... 22 shots with 1 on target over 2 games is not something to be ignored.

The chelsea player came from his blind side, he actually got there 1st...then the Chelsea play looking for it, flung himself

over Chilwell..Plus the ref knew what happened, Never in all my years have I seen s uch bias from a ref.....

Plus..I really like you, but I am a diabetic, so donuts send me out of Control :P

Guest Col city fan

Hats off to @Babylon. He called it right with Matt James. Amazing comeback and man of the match today apparently?

I’m made up for him personally. It’s just a bloody shame we didn’t go on to win it today. We deserved to.

Sensational first half, reminded me of everything that made me fall in love with Leicester.

Playing against the big boys, being written off by everyone, but simply not giving a **** and playing fast and in your face football leaving the so called "big boys" with no idea what to do. Mahrez is just a freak....his first touch is beyond words. Big Harry is a star and made Morata look like an absolute spud and really glad people are giving Amartey a shout out. Genuinely haven't been much of a fan of his at all and was filthy with that red a few weeks ago, but he was damn good today and that deserves to be recognised.

Genuinely think we could be on a long term winner with Puel....the bloke seems very shrewd, switched on and is slowly but surely creating his own version of Leicester which looked ****ing unreal today.

I fancied us to get a draw today and in fairness it should have been a win. We were great today all over the pitch.

Amartey I thought just shaded MOTM from Maguire. He never put a foot wrong, Kept Hazzard quite and even managed to show up in Chelsea's box.

He even managed to get across to LB to cover for Chilwell and Maguire second half. He's getting better with every game and by the time Simpson is over his injury He will have a real challenge to win his place back.

Mahrez was also excellent with his all  round game he really is turning into a world class player.  I do think it was a Penalty although the way he went down didn't do him any favors.

All in all a great game to watch and things continue to look good for the future provided we keep our best players.

This re amartey and I hope after a few more games we will have the same situation with drago vs morgan.

Now that would be good backup/strength in depth if the current 2 keep their places on merit.

Definitely not averse to spending big on both positions though to really kick on.

You carry on with your skirt... Ad -dress  the fact we are 8th, so our strengths are higher than   Our hemline weaknesses, now frock-off,  negative-knicker-Chaser

I'd like to see our Stats for this game, Anyone post them please. Especially up to the time Chilwelll got sent off. I'm sure ours are way better than Chelsea.

I kept looking at them first half because I couldn't believe how good we were.

We bossed the stats first half the way the big boys usually do against us.

>60% possession.

>30% more passes.

>80% successful passes.

More shots, but less on target but the real chances definitely went to us even with less shots on target.

The way we play generally doesn't show up well in stats imo. 3 shots on target that didn't trouble the goalie looks better than half an inch away from a drilled cross which with the extra half inch is almost certain goal.

Admittedly this is from memory and all first half but commentator mentioned >60% possession in first 10 mins of second half and not long after that chilly walked.

Stats pretty much even by the end but no surprise with over 20 mins with 10 men away at chelsea
