Man City make £50million offer for Riyad Mahrez?

Recommended Posts

Why are we all believing hes gone AWOL and thrown his toys out the pram? Hes been nothing but professional during the time hes wanted a move, including playing with a big smile on his face and enjoying his footy.

You simply can not shoot the bloke based on hearsay of the papers who frankly are a big bunch of liars, ... Liverpool Medicals, Arsenal moves.... Chelsea Moves... we've heard the lot.

If his heads not in the right place as we all know he wants a major move then I'm not surprised hes not in the group. If serious negotiations are being listened too then the club will not involve him in the game...if he gets inured then the club gets zero!

Give the lad a break and back him for every week he wears our shirt.... he's done more than enough to earn a legacy and our respect whatever happens.

He’s done this too many times.

I love him as a player but frankly he can fook off. If all the reports are true, he clearly don’t want to be here any more.

Its amazing how many people on here would keep him regardless. It’s like they value Mahrez more than the club.

He burned the bridges and it was silly to not turn up. The stain will stay. He won't be there next season and it will take one hell of a man management from Puel to handle the dressing room.

Mahrez not going to Man City

Manchester City have walked away from a proposed deal for Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez after refusing to sanction a transfer package that would have cost £95m.

City do not view themselves as having made an offer after Leicester City came to them with a proposal that would have also included a player.

Conversations took place to ascertain Leicester's value of Mahraz - a number of which took place - and City's interest pre-dates emergence of their interest in the Algerian interest in 26-year-old Mahrez.

City had previously made it clear that they were not willing to spend, however the package was made up, more than £60m.

The difference in valuation was so big that there was no chance of agreement being reached, leaving City to walk away from the deal.

City were not interested in Mahrez simply because Leroy Sane was ruled out for seven weeks with the injury sustained in Sunday's FA Cup win at Cardiff City.

The club had a long-standing desire to bring in an attacking player next summer. They were obviously interested in Alexis Sanchez before he went to Manchester United but felt that was too expensive and have now reached the same conclusion with Mahrez.

all of this could have been done behind closed doors. I bet there were no leaks from our end. no one had to know.

the rest is all rumour. if we thought there was any chance that man city would come to us with an acceptable bid then we would have told him that he wasn't going to Liverpool for the game. the journos can makeup everything else to suit their agendas

I think the horse has bolted mate, if he's really fvcked off on his own and basically refused to go to Everton tonight or train yesterday, is the situation salvageable? Maybe, maybe not.

yeah, it’s always “salvageable” when the player’s good enough. look at tevez at man city. refused to play, they told him to fu ck off, lost a few games, they begged him to come back.

I really don't get the outrage. By anyone - fans or players (although I doubt there is any from players).

One of, if not the, best players to ever play for LCFC who attracts interest each transfer window is open to a move and says so.

Deal breaks down, player stays. So what???

It's good news for us - we keep him longer and benefit from his talent, whilst his value continues to rise (difference between the two transfer windows has been a doubling of value. Hold onto him and sell when it suits us.... just no need to get over excited and slate the bloke.
