Your last Pint?

Recommended Posts

Had a few in town tonight celebrating my older brother having a nipper. Kings Head seemed to be doing alright but The Salmon is truly exceptional.

Heard whispers of Alex moving on and I really hope he doesn't. A foreign (Stoke) landlord that's got it, his staff are brilliant and the pub is a great place to go even if you aren't a CAMRA card carrier.

It is the best pub in Leicester and that is solely based on the staff, as well as exceptional beer. Only superlatives can be used to describe him as a landlord.

Guest Chocolate Teapot

After I was pit in Randers we went to Copenhagen and a bar called Warpigs after. Would highly recommend- they don't serve anything below 5.6%, serve epic food and play death metal.

Big big fan and been thinking about it ever since.

Off to Leeds next week Saturday for a beer festival in the evening at Northern Monk. Can anyone recommend any good bars/things to do in the afternoon please?

See if you can grab a ticket in the afternoon for Chow Down. It’s close to NM.

Roxy Ballroom in The Light/Boar Lane (actually dead opposite Bankers Cat)

Proper boozer. Was back in Leeds a few weeks ago and just stumbled across it.

Under appreciated town boozer for me. The Bankers Cat probably had to spend loads to get it to look exactly how The Adelphi always has done.

Random suggestions:

Scarborough Hotel if you're getting the train in, is always worth going to for a swift pint.

Templar is a classic old school pub slap bang in the middle of Leeds (which I think is why I like it), feels like a proper throwback and you can get a decent pint in there.

I like Nation of Shopkeepers too, loads of beers and usually a decent atmosphere. Has a beer garden too if the weather's alright.

Aside from that, can't go wrong with Manini's suggestions.

Have booked bowling and pool at Roxy The Light for midday when we get there. Then we will prob go for lunch and a pint before heading back out in the pm.

Made a Punk IPA clone.

Not sure why it’s a bit darker than it should be - but it is an absolute guzzler. Probably the best beer I’ve made. Happy days.

Feel free to pop round

Had a great steak sandwich in The White Swan and roast dinner at The Cross Keys over the canal.

Good beer selection at both too.

Sounds good man as we are coming back late Sunday so will prob have a few with some food to take the edge off.

Una has covered you there. Cross Keys is near to where you’re going for the beer festival. Midnight Bell next door too is good scran.
