Not ale related but I’ve been a regular in that Cafe opposite the Peace Gardens, Lisboa, every time I’ve been in Sheff lately. That’s a really cool little place.

The Mrs of a Portuguese Wednesday player started it a few years ago. Have another one up in Crookes. Banging gaff.

Have you tried to new Neapolitan cafe on Surrey Street as you walk up from

the station?

The great thing about Leeds yesterday was how busy (or at worst, steady) everywhere was almost all day on a Thursday, I love London and it's pubs but I've never seen it like that even centrally in a comparable situation.

Also said before but our students are shit and barely leave their bedrooms. It's made a marked difference to Leeds and, imo, is why Nottingham is a much livelier place for a night out than Leicester.

My perception of Leeds is that it's probably the most centralised city in the country (never been to Glasgow). So there's a big, fairly compact centre full of people at work, students & visitors milling around in a way you don't get with Manchester or Birmingham.

City centre is tiny really (in comparison to population) so general footfall makes it seem busier and more lively than other places. I don’t think you’re far wrong.

Proper traditional one this weekend in two of the most old school boozers around.

3 pints in Polly's (three horse shoes) in Whitwick - Cheers Ma'am, 2 x Bass

A pint in The Chequers inn Ticknall - Staropramen

How was Polly’s? It’s got new landlords, and had a lick of paint. Haven’t been in for a while, supposed to be going with @Stadt

Monaco Blonde from the Monaco Brewery at the Monaco Brasserie in Monaco.

9 Euro a pint to be expected but it was tasty. Haven't really been touching beer this holiday as it's not really the part of the world to find a decent local drop.
