Good luck, I struggled in March. So much so, I’d argue Melton is the best place to drink in Oakham.

A half of Minnow pale ale from the Little Brewery at The Star in West Leake.

Wrong side of the border but not a bad little place. Still felt like a locals pub despite being in the middle of nowhere and clearly having half an eye on food and coffee sales.

Charnwood Salvation and Vixen on too, which is always nice to see.

Kernel at the Harp. Hopefully it tastes better than it looks…

@bovril , tried it?

Not that one.

Was thinking of popping into the harp this afternoon though as they have Brother Rabbit on which is one of my favorites and a mild I want to try

I wouldn’t call it a mild…

But quite drinkable

I needed an Oxford comma! I saw on real ale finder they also have a mild on from red willow.

Brother Rabbit I really like so hopefully it'll still be on by the time I get there...

Ahh!
Really nice way to spend an early afternoon.

But I think they’ve probably had better ones on

Didn’t see the Red Willow. (Didn’t see much after the 5th pint, tbh)

@bovril If you head a few train stops further south you’re more than welcome to try some of this…

(I’m not a huge fan of the cloudy/hazy stuff if truth be told).

This is a very enjoyable (and clear) home brew Amber Ale 5% with kind of Elvis Juice notes.

Thanks! Agree on the hazy stuff. That looks lovely though. And I love the beer mat...

Had a pint of Punk in Notts brewdog this afternoon.

Nottingham was absolutely packed with drinkers around 3pm.

I like how they've reclaimed all the pavements and made them outside space for the resteraunts and pubs.
