Couldn’t really get the flavour of his performance in 10 mins on MOTD  but he did nothing positive in any move he was involved in and either chose the wrong option or slowed the attack up until he was hooked

Checking the scored this morning, it was a good night for us. A few batterings dished out to teams around us. Only 5 points up to 7th now. Let's have a good end to the season .

It's a strange one down there, don't necessarily think binning Jokanovic was the wrong decision (even though there arguably isn't a better (realistically, anyway) manger to have in the Championship) – but if they were that desperate to stay up at all costs surely Allardyce on an interim basis was a better option?

Of all the merry-go-round bunch he's definitely the most accomplished and seems to specialise in these little firefighting stints. Wouldn't be inspired by any stretch but they'd be in a better position than they are now.

Love Claudio but it was never the right appointment, and I think that was quite a big consensus on here.

Wouldn't shock me if China is his next move.

TBQH I was really surprised didn’t just call it a day after leaving us. Surely couldn’t need the money and had already achieved the very pinnacle of his career. Why not just enjoy retirement with maybe a few guest appearances on tv?

I actually really agree.

I remember growing up when Derby, Forest, Coventry and Villa were all top flight. There is something special about having regional derbies.

I also think it promotes the midlands as a football area. With just us and Wolves up there the midlands doesn't have the same appeal to players.

That’s never true apart from a few instances ........

people earning a fortune to tend to spend what they have and whilst there is excess , they then invest that for their kids ..........

whilst riyad won’t have enjoyed not playing much, the double size+ salary, working environment and the medals will help .............

said it at the time on here so may as well say it again now, but fulham appointing ranieri is one of the worst decisions in premier league history. couldn’t be any more gone at the game, the poor fella.

I said pretty much the same. Strange appointment

just imagine if ranieri had stayed? fulham really would've been better off getting allardyce in.

Spot on. Much as people laugh about him, Fat Sam would have sorted out their leaky defense and had them playing ugly, but results would have come.

After last night I just can't see Fulham surviving now. In fact I give Huddersfield more chance!

Ranieri should never have taken the Fulham job, and Fulham were crazy to go for him.

Just checked out the Mahrez thread, and clicked on the blue moon Manchester City forum. The comments on him are highly critical, and often quite offensive too.

Just shows how little difference there is from football fans supporting different teams.

People will think I am being overly harsh but there's a certain schadenfreude with Claudio failing at Fulham. Obviously not personal to himself but all the idiots what slated us sacking him. He just doesn't have the ability to arrest a slide down the table and stop the rot. People are seeing what we saw at Fulham - a complete disconnect with the squad and a very few original ideas.

Excellent points. The latter stages of our title winning season, plus the dire playing style of the 16/17 season unfortunately showed what Claudio was really about.

Claudio has shown no signs at Fulham he can change anything.

And it's making him look how lucky he was here, having inherited the team Pearson built.

There were 27 minutes gone at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night when Kevin De Bruyne, exasperated that Riyad Mahrez had drifted needlessly offside from one of his passes for the second time in quick succession, made no attempt to mask his feelings. Motioning at Mahrez to get his act together with a pronounced shrug of the shoulders and a look that could kill, De Bruyne left City’s record £60 million signing in little doubt that he expected better, much better.

De Bruyne’s frustration did not peak there, though, and as the first half drifted to a close with West Ham United standing firm and City struggling for inspiration, Mahrez seemed to have resolved that it was better not to look in the Belgian’s direction, perhaps fearful of the daggers he would be shot. There was a woeful misplaced pass to West Ham’s Michail Antonio, an overhit pass that zoomed right through to Lukasz Fabianski in the visiting team’s goal and another occasion when he overran the ball. Some fans were even shouting for him to be dragged off after half an hour.

Not before next Saturday Fulham please

It would be sad not to be able to chant Ranieri's name, but we were able to do that when he returned to the club against Burnley along with Pearson and Shakespeare.

In terms of it boosting their performance, I'm not sure it will make a difference. Their mistake was to sign too many foreign players and ruin the team spirit that got them promoted in the first place. Of their players that are any good, it's all of the players from last year in Mitrovic, Sessengon, Cairney and Odoi. I don't think any of their new signings really did anything, and they signed too many of them.

Wonder if opposition fans will be signing 'who finished sixth in a three horse race?' next season! :D

Why do they do it to themselves?! You know how shit you are, stop talking about being in a title race!!
