I'm up for this - they sound like characters from a Samuel Beckett play - might widen our appeal to the theatre loving public

Irrelevant trivia of the day - I have a cat called Gimli.

Club official says player is likely to leave, days after Leicester City offer claimed

According to a Besiktas official, Domagoj Vida is likely to leave the club after the World Cup.

The Croatian international has been in impressive form for his country in the first two matches of the World Cup and according to reports in Turkey, Leicester City are looking to sign the player.

It’s been reported in the recent days that Leicester City have offered €12m to sign the Vida but Besiktas will only make a decision after the tournament in Russia.

Speaking to Aksam, an unnamed director on the Besiktas board said: “Vida is a quality player. Before he came to Besiktas, he had offers from a lot of clubs. The news in the press is true, we’ve had offers but they are verbal. We are expecting written offers.

“I don’t think the transfer will happen during the World Cup. But I also think that Vida will leave the club after the World Cup. Let’s see what happens.”

Vida has also been linked with Everton, West Ham United and Fulham in the past week, but with Leicester City’s reported offer it seems the Foxes are looking to get ahead of their Premier League rivals.

The central defender joined Besiktas in January, but struggled to hold down a place in the team with a firm defensive partnership already in place. It had been expected Vida would move into the side next season, but with interest reportedly growing that may now be unlikely.

Are  we STILL looking at him now or is this agent talk of old news to inrease the profile of the player?
