Goes back to their captain Rattin at the ‘66 World Cup and then obviously Maradonnas cheating in 86 and Simone getting Beckham sent off in 98. Nothing to do with Falklands or Brexit imo - purely footballing reasons

Yep. Nailed it.

Flimsy reasons really. '66 was over 50 years ago, most fans weren't even alive. Maradona is a knob but it's the referee and linesman you should be pissed off with there. Beckham got himself sent off.

The Rattin sending off in '66 was a joke. No doubt the Argies were chippy and niggly, but the referee said he sent him off, "for the look in his eye.". That's pathetic.

What a pit of a game so far.

All this tackling and playacting and these bloody interruptions.

Not an advert for football. Plenty of bad fouls on either side, but especially from the Argentines.

Rattin in 66 wouldn’t leave the pitch when sent off against us in the 1/4 final. Then he sat on the Queens red carpet and wouldn’t get off. Then he screwed up an England flag in his hand - no wonder Alf Ramsey wouldn’t let out lads swap shirts with them.

Maradonna admitted to cheating so he gets the full brunt of people’s hatred, not the ref or linesman.

Simione knew exactly what he was doing when he ruffled Beckams hair when he was down. Wanted a reaction, got one, and then went down like he’d been shot.

Nothing flimsy about any of that..

Old man Mascherano is managing the team, clearly. That’s the only reason I can see as to why he continues to play for them.

France have finally woken up. Look so pacy going forward.

That was after his foul and abusive language to the ref though wasn’t it?

Is this an urban UK myth? He clearly only touches it briefly! lol

And how is it the Argentine's fault when Beckham reacted the way he did, with the referee watching? You can of course argue it was only a yellow, but still...
