Just relaying rumour I have heard . Someone I know was at Holmes Park the other day when the U23s were playing . Anyway there car was blocked in by Simpsons chauffer . They asked him why Simpson was playing and he replied that both Simpson and KIng were in shop window and would be sold before end of next week . Don't shoot the messenger , I am not itk , just relaying what I was told

Not sure why they'd need to be shop windowed they been around long enough for anyone to know what they're capable of, more to maintain fitness for when they do leave.

Unsurprising as Big Dan Amartey has shown that he's World Class in Pre Season.

I'd put Amartey ahead of him now as 2nd choice anyway, so makes sense

But we did know he was approaching the end of his career for a while now. Still wish him well wherever he goes - should he leave the club, that is.

A solid re-inforcement from a defensive perspective for any Premier League club.

 

In spite of his personal problems, I think he was one of our better players during that godforsaken 2016-2017 season.

Not surprised by this. It's clear given ages etc Amartey offers more in every sense. But he has been a good servant to the Club. The number of times he's saved Morgan on the back post.

SSN "sources" just said he is not part of CPs plans and could leave in the next week.

Seems to me that some of the players have been told they are surplus to requirements. Think Puel is doing it right. Get some of these young lads involved and get rid of the deadwood.

Heard from someone living up near there earlier in the week stating that Burnley have been interested in him.

So add a backup RB to the 'needed' list as well then. I really don't get this. He's a good defender. Obviously lacking going forward but I think we'll regret letting him go. He's a better option than Amartey in that position.

Might be his own choice, probably wants to play at this stage of his career and knows he could easily get a start elsewhere

He's not better than Amartey that's for sure

He played really well during most of his time here. All respect towards him really. Everyone has a time to go.

His arrival was hardly marked with a fanfare, he was a player whom many despised due to some personal issues yet he overcame them and became a very important player in that season of seasons! He is an old fashioned outright defender, limited in a way, but proficient in his duties and so very key at defending those back post positions with balls coming in from our left. Possibly underrated & undervalued because of his limited value up front, but with Mahrez in front of him he had to sit in. One of the team of legends I’ll love forever.
