Mascots

Makes bad reading seeing us charging the 3rd highest price in the division and almost 50% more than Spurs who sit 4th in the list. Hopefully, this will be brought to the club's attention and they will reconsider the price as £600 is scandalous.

Lets hope so. When my new born was born I spoke to them about membership packages and the idea of being a mascot a few years down the line.

The prices where frightening, and obviously I was only dealing with those on the front line but I did not get the feeling the club felt the prices where high?

£600 is the base price too, you would be paying more for the games against the top 6.

It may be outrageous but you can't compare it with other clubs unless you know what the package involves.

There should be an option to not have the meal for 4 etc, not everyone who wants to be a mascot wants all those extras in fact I'd be surprised if there's more that a couple of kids who want to eat in the restaurant.

I guess you're paying for the extras

Ahead of the 2018/19 Premier League season, VIP mascot packages are once again open to junior Leicester City supporters.

- Highlights include pre-match tunnel walk, player photos and mascot PA/big-screen announcements
- Each experience also includes four tickets for the game and a three-course meal in the Fosse Club
- VIP mascot experiences, for children aged 7 to 11, start from £600

Parents can make their kids’ dreams come true while enjoying their own special matchday with VIP mascot packages on Filbert Way.

Starting at £600, each package gives smaller supporters the chance to meet their heroes in a memorable Premier League experience.

As well as leading the Leicester City side from the tunnel, mascots get the opportunity to have their photo taken with their favourite player.

Furthermore, each VIP mascot will be part of the official line-up photo, feature in the pre-match PA and screen announcements - and take away their own adidas replica kit at the end of the experience!

VIP experiences are an upgrade on the Club’s traditional mascot packages.

Each includes a three-course chef’s table meal and complimentary half-time refreshments for the whole party!

For convenience, matchday parking on the Filbert Street car park is included in every package.

Or is that just a way for the club to sell four extra tickets.

My parents would never have been able to afford to pay that much for me to be a mascot. I couldn't justify paying that much for my son to be a mascot either.

I have no problem with the club profiteering in this way but I think they have to make the kid chosen to be mascot for the match regardless of ability to pay. It should be free - a gift from the club - if they don't want to include a kit then fair enough. I think if they make "THE MASCOT" one of the kids who are supporters club or members or of parents who are ST holders then the kids will already have a kit anyway. It's a thank you to the parents who support the club, it's a goodwill gesture which will repay itself anyway.

If some rich plastic once a year supporter wants their kid to be a mascot then charge them.

Think this was raised a few months ago or around last season.

It's exploitation at the end of the day and only rewards those who can really afford it. Charging anything is ridiculous considering how many kids would love this opportunity to get close with the players and walk around the stadium but to charge £600 is eye-watering. Especially so considering how much money is made by clubs in Premier League as it is.

Its so shit that the football is so out of touch with reality.

It doesn't feel like you're a part of it all these days, everything is corporate and everything revolves around how much money you have rather than how much you love your team.

£600 quid is beyond a joke.

I looked into this last season for my kids and then found out how mic it would cost. The biggest problem is that there’s actually a waiting list of over 70 matches so even if I could afford it my kids would be too old by the time we’ve played that many home matches! Like with everything else as long as people are willing to pay the clubs will continue to charge.

Don’t see why everyone is shocked that you have to pay to be a mascot, it’s an experience. Just like we all pay to go and watch the games. Can’t expect the club to hand out freebies just because it’s for the children.

Just as easy not to charge as other Clubs do. Not only would it encourage more youngsters and hopefully get the bug that we have when we were introduced to the game. It shouldn't all be about money and particularly when you have a relatively wealthy Club like Leicester City

It's outrageous.

BUT supply and demand. As stated above there's actually a waiting list for parents to pay obsurd money for little Johnny to be a mascot. The club are going to charge as much as they can if demand dectates it.

We do have great owners but I think some people's judgement is clouded by thinking EVERYTHING the club does has to be charitable. Who is going to pay the wages of the staff if the club gave away everything for cut price.

I've got 2 kids. I'd love them to be mascots. Am I willing to pay hundreds for the privaledge? NO way ..but little Johnny's dad is loaded or stupid so fair enough!!!

My niece won a Mastercard competition and was a player escort vs Atletico Madrid. She walked out holding Antoine Griezman's hand.

My brother in law wanted my nephew to do something similar and paid the money. He was one of the mascots vs Burnley. That's an experience he'll never forget.

Very surprised we’re so high.  Given all the great things the club does I opened the article expecting us to be in the free category.  Over a full season it’s peanuts for the club and prices out many kids.  Needs sorting.

Great to see the lad looking so happy on his big day.

And the guy with the headphones too.

I was very surprised at our costs for this but reading the £600 is an experience which includes 4 tickets, 4 meals and drinks, I'm now less surprised.

There should perhaps be an option where you can fore go the food and drinks and at a more reasonable, accessible cost.

It does seem a crafty way of selling the more expensive seats and places in the restaurant.Saying that though if Dad/Uncle/Auntie and maybe Nan and Gramps all chip in it’s not so bad.I should imagine you get well looked after.Ifs theirs a 70 game waiting list then the club are in their rights to charge the going rate.

Most kids never get close to being a mascot and get through life perfectly fine.At least theirs no embarrassing photos to cringe over in later life.

Not every mascot package is £600, that's the price for the "Big 6". I brought my lad a mascot package this season and was his main Christmas present cost me around £365. I/We have waited for 3 seasons for the opportunity and whilst it is a tad excessive it is an experience he will never forget.

The only difference between the £365 and the £600 packages are the fact you get a three course meal thrown in.

It's £2.00 for a bottle of water, disgusting. Whether that's Compass setting the price or not it shows a disregard for fans.

Clappers, free beers, mince pies or whatever are nice gestures but they're exactly that.

When I was a youngster, my uncle was a club sponsor ..... back in the early seventies........anyway, he obviously spoke to the club about my cousin being selected as a mascot. (Was supposed to be drawn randomly). As we share the same surname, the person given the job of sending out the letter came across me before him ..... I was junior fox club member 001 thru 007 ish ......can’t recall exactly what number.

so I was mistakenly dodgily chosen to be mascot at home to Fulham in the cup replay 1974 ......... the ‘error’ rectified the first home game of the following season against arsenal!   you could say that the amount of money involved back then was way in excess of what the club charge today !   Funny old game ..........
