Swalshed Posted 6 November 2022 Share Posted 6 November 2022 Just that it's been said that Harvey's emergence was one of the main reasons Demari didn't get much game time. I did like Gray for us though, and I was there for the goal at Cardiff. Unforgettable poignant occasion.
Popular Post deanolegend1989 Posted 6 November 2022 Popular Post Share Posted 6 November 2022 Think sometimes people dont realise the hardest position to play well and build 'numbers' if your team is struggling is on the Wing. A winger goes with the team, if a team is all good around it the winger gets higher up the pitch and shows his quality, if hes getting 2 man marked all the time and the rest of the team gets overpowered, even the best can look like a fish up a tree! Harvey is a top top winger and better than most in the Prem. Hes a better version of Allen St Maxim at Newcastle, exciting and frustrating but the difference is Harvey has much better stats so less wastful than ASM. Most would think ASM is potentially a top player and a top 6 player, so why not Harvey? He might not be quite as high ceiling wise as Youri or Madders, but were comparing them to 2 of our greatest and 2 that could play for anyone in world football pretty much bar City. Anyone who thinks Barnes couldnt do as well or better than Grealish at City or Jota at Liverpool or Sterling at Chelsea or Sancho at Utd then they are mad. Hes a very good winger and one of our best weve had over the years. 12
RowlattsFox Posted 6 November 2022 Share Posted 6 November 2022 Two poor finishes with his right and then pinging it in top corner with his left is standard Barnes can't teach the knack he has of scoring goals

Pliskin Posted 6 November 2022 Share Posted 6 November 2022 He’s having a great season so far! What he has started doing is attack the game himself, rather than rely on the momentum of the game to get going. He’s got attributes that could make him one of the best attacking players in the world. Pace, Power and he can finish. I think he has taken the bull by the horns this season.
matty98 Posted 6 November 2022 Share Posted 6 November 2022 Would be interesting to see his shot conversation on his left foot compared to his right. I'm convinced he's better shooting on his left.

Popular Post eblair Posted 6 November 2022 Popular Post Share Posted 6 November 2022 My favourite player at the club, so frustrating sometimes but can look unbelievable very strange player but lack of love for him on here very odd considering he’s an academy lad who has saved us spanking 60m on crap wingers

Nobody. Absolutely. We know from bitter experience that finding wingers is not easy. We ended up wuth Perez for Mahrez and then followed that with Diabate, Gjezzal, Under and Lookman. We've got a 24 carat one on our hands in HB and he cost us nothing. We couldn't afford to buy Barnes, he is a very special player and one of the few that gets me out of my seat. I'm just baffled by those that call him average.

No my quote was about Kdh which got in the Barnes thread for some reason! Sorry about that.

I think it's because he shoots from places where you have less chance of scoring with the right and usually only shoots with left when he has a proper, clear sight at goal. whoareyaaa Posted 6 November 2022 Share Posted 6 November 2022 (edited) Give him 3 or 4 chances and he usually bags and is always a threat and seems to get those chances every game great player, if he can convert more then that would make him one of the top wingers in the league Edited 6 November 2022 by whoareyaaa

seenitall Posted 6 November 2022 Share Posted 6 November 2022 Barnesey is top drawer - a home grown young player who causes grief all match down the wing and then bags the odd quality goal and is definitely imrpoving the more game time he has - get with the programme all you haters

Probably 4 in Chelsea - Sterling, Arsenal - Martinelli, Spurs - Son and Manchester City err take your pick but Grealish... Barnes probably would get a starting opportunity in most other sides at the moment? Edited 6 November 2022 by Nick 1
SpacedX Posted 6 November 2022 Share Posted 6 November 2022 4 minutes ago, Unabomber said: Guy who sits next to me at the KP absolutely hates him and I have no clue why. Because he knows absolutely **** all about football and like so many cerebrally challenged individuals that comprise a large proportion of our so called 'support', feels empowered by mindlessly berating our own players. The same thing happened with Ben Chilwell on a much larger scale. The booing of Gray last night was pathetic.
Stadt Posted 6 November 2022 Share Posted 6 November 2022 He’s never started more than 24 games a season in the PL, if he starts 30+ this season he’ll 12-15 goals. He’s long overdue a hattrick
Corky Posted 6 November 2022 Share Posted 6 November 2022 Love his direct play. It's why we loved Lloyd Dyer too. Nothing really fancy or complicated- get the ball and head towards the box. Lethal weaker foot as well.
