Harvey Barnes

Another frustrating game on the whole. Was a bit disappointed it wasn't his number that went up when Perez went off for Nacho

Unfortunately with Daka injured and Vardy having taken up permanent residence in an offside position, if you take Barnes off then our threat on the break goes from negligible to non-existent. He is hugely frustrating but it wouldn't be such a problem if we had either another attacking winger on the other side or someone we could bring on to do his job. Doesn't entirely excuse his performances in the last couple of games obviously.

Technical ability is zero sadly. Doesn't have a football brain. It's a shame.

Well clearly he does as past stats would suggest.

He has regressed like a lot of the team, and the 4th highest paid manager in the league has to to held accountable for that

The problem is teams know we are going to play through Barnes because we don't have anyone in the right 3rd of the pitch apart from Timmy due to the stupid inverted winger thing, whether that be Maddison, Praet, Perez or Nacho. It makes it so easy for the opposition to handle, every time Barnes got one on one with Trent, Henderson came over to double up. We're too predictable and easy to counter.

Stupid just like Iheanacho

The disrespect to Kelechi is unbelievable.

Kelechi could average a contribution of a goal a game for 10/15 games & be then dropped for 6 months at the drop of a hat.

Barnes is ineffective week in, week out & is seemingly the first name on the team sheet.

give kelechi the game time that Barnes has had and you’d see a stark difference in this team’s position in the league.

He needs more support too. He’s so isolated, he’s being asked to beat his man every time. If he has runners off him, the space opens up.

It’s easy to trash the lad whose being asked to carry our attack and he has no one to replace him

A left-footed overlapping left back and a genuine threat on the opposite side and not only would he probably have a far easier time, when he does have a stinker like today it wouldn't be nearly as damaging to us

Hugely frustrating today but he was doubled and even trebled up on for most of the game.

We don’t play to his strengths, we don’t really play to anybody’s strengths.

Also some of you don’t half go overboard, 6 goals in 15 games for him - totally useless.

If we could clone Barnes and have the same player on the right, I'd do it.

Then the opposition wouldn't be able to do that and we wouldn't be so predictable.

He's a damn good player, but without the same threat on the opposite flank, we can be read like a book.

I have sympathy in that he's often our only threat so he's under pressure to be good and make things happen. But he has so little variety to his game. He needs other players to be playing well and linking up with him. So many times he runs into his defender or he messes up a good position by being easily tackled.

You look at our goal against Liverpool last season at home and that’s what happens when you have runners functioning off a winger. TAA today could just play on him

only having to look after Barnes
