Absolutely nothing special happened. It’s just, our record signing still stood at £5m for Matt Mills in 2011 and Ade Akinbiyi in 2000. 

 

Within the last 5 years we’ve broken it for:

Ulloa (£8m)

Mendy (£13m)

Musa (£16m)

Slimani (£29)

 

Each with varying degrees of success, and at least one that will live forever in Leicester City folklore. Some the less said about the better. 

 

Today however, we’ve just gone and spent £40m on of one the brightest young midfielders in football. And someone we already know is quality. 

 

Yeah, the market may have inflated a bit, but kinell, I never though I’d see the day we’d be in this position.

 

What a time to be alive!

Didn't know Mendy was that much. Thought it was about 8m. Fair enough.

 

Not a bad signing but not pulled up any trees.

 

I worry when we spend big money. Been some truly shite value for money signings. Akinbiyi, Mills, Silva, Musa, Slimani and Ihenacho

 

More confident on the Tielmans one tho

Ulloa was a cult-hero.

 

Mendy has been mediocre.

 

Slimani, Musa, Mills and Akinbiyi all awful.

 

Let's hope Tielemans comes off the same way Ulloa did over the rest.
