Ex Players - They used to play for us

Recommended Posts

While he may have retired from professional football, Anthony Knockaert has not decided to fully hang the boots up just yet. The mercurial winger will play next season in the lower reaches of Belgian football with Mouscron, the phoenix club of the now defunct Royal Excelsior Mouscron. Stade Mouscronnois were formed in 2022 to ensure that the town would still have a football team and currently plays in the lower reaches of the Belgian football pyramid. The former side went out of business in 2022 after being relegated from the Pro League the previous season.

Knockaert, from just across the border in Roubaix, trained with Mouscron as a youngster before joining the Guingamp youth system. He went on the play for Leicester and Brighton, where he had the biggest impact. He did also play for half a season with Standard Liege, his only time in Belgian football. Last year he left Fulham to play in the French second tier with Valenciennes FC, who were subsequently relegated to the third tier of French football.

After retiring, he returns to the side where he started playing football.

Celtic fans will see Kasper as a big name, and he wants the first team place, the European football, the possibility of trophies and maybe some of the love that Joe Hart got.

He'll be a big fish up here.

Mixed feelings about him playing for one of the arsecheeks, but he's earned all the love he gets from Leicester fans, so good luck to him.

I see Doyle going out on another season long loan to a Champs club. This time Norwich.

I suppose his lack of pace is inhibiting him from getting a better gig, but should do decent there as a left sided CB in a back 5.

Yeah, I thought it was a bit weird we signed him to be a full back when he's very obviously a centre half.

Great eye for a pass on him and definitely a really classy player in there, he'll do well.

Fourth loan to a football league club. He's had two play-off finals and a league win in his other three.

Expect Norwich to do well if he signs for them!
