Definitely didn’t fulfil his potential. He was by far away from the perfect article but you look at the sh*te that can get in the England squad such as Mings, there’s no reason why he couldn’t be playing at a similar level.

If Schlupp can play 8+ years in the Premier League then so could Liam Moore. Sometimes certain paths in your life is decided by luck or unluck.

Moore was squeezing every ounce of his ability out of himself when playing alongside Morgan in our title-winning side. He didn’t quite have enough for the Premier League unfortunately.

 

The comments from Reading fans on that statement seem to suggest they won’t be sad to see the back of him and that he hasn’t been playing well for a couple of years now.

Think that’s a little harsh as he was a young lad when we had him, he left us when only 22, he was nominated for young player of the season for the season we were promoted losing out to Derby’s Will Hughes.

 

He suffered a few injuries as he was quite combative but was quick and strong allowing him to cover RB for us also. Think at that time we had Morgan, Was and Huth covering the CB positions and Simpson, De Laet covering RB with Richie also able to cover CB, these were all established pros.

He only played 1 Lge game i think in that title winning season due to the experience so hard to say he squeezed every ounce of premiership ability out of him.

He actually had then the attributes Rogers is wanting for the emergency CB signing that he wants now and I bet if Rodgers had him now at that age he could have made him a potential England CB given who has played there recently.


As @Kokementions about different paths, another path and coach (not manager) could have seen him being a very good premiership CB & at the very least our current day Big Dan as he was quicker and a lot tidier / composed on the ball.

 

As you can tell I liked him homegrown and all that, he and King always seem to have had a place in my heart for their love for the club and hope he gets what ever he is chasing now.

Title winning side? I don't think he even made a league appearance that season.

No I didn't know the Championship existed thanks for the lesson..... He was fine in the Championship, making out he was having to push himself to his limit to put in the performances he did is over the top.

He lost his place halfway through that season to Wasilewski. 

 

The first PL season he also eventually lost his place. 

 

It was a recurring theme for him.

I quite liked Liam Moore, but sadly my abiding memory of him is of him being bullied by Wilfried Bony when we played Swansea in the first half of the 2014/15 season.

He made 25 starts the season we won the Championship.

 

30 league appearances overall that season.

 

He started the PL season ok, had a very good game away to Stoke but seemed to lose his way and lose confidence.

Oxford City topped the Vanorama league South for a few days around the turn of the year & as explained above have subsequently dropped off and only in play -off positions now. Dspite Weymouth's position, third bottom, no doubt good progression for Oldfield.
