Kamal Sowah scored for Brugge tonight in the Champions League.

Should we have kept him?

So far I would say we have possibly made the right decision in selling him, although maybe we should have loaned him out again

He had a very poor 1st half of the season with Brugge and then another very poor 2nd half of the season with AZ

But apparently has started this season well with them but more as a support striker / central player

In which case, fair enough, he wouldn't have made it here anyway if he wasn't gonna be a wide player.

Let's see where Maswanhise goes...

From today’s Fiver, the Guardian’s football email:

"Welcome, Ryan" – Weymouth manager David Oldfield upon signing goalkeeper Ryan Sandford on loan from Millwall. Sandford would go on to make this ridiculous quadruple save during their National League South game at Bath. Unfortunately it didn't impact the result as they lost 2-1. Oh, and Oldfield was then mutual-consented out of the door.

11 Leicester City players you may not have known were still playing

https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/leicester-transfers-inler-de-laet-7607725

Martyn Waghorn - A loanee City supporters fell in love with in the 2009/10 season, the English striker has endured a journeyman-like career since leaving the Foxes. He left the club prior to their return to the Premier League in 2014 and has had spells with Rangers, Ipswich Town and Derby County. He remains at Coventry City after joining Mark Robins' side in 2021.

Tom Parkes - Academy product Parkes failed to make the first team at the King Power Stadium, despite being part of Nigel Pearson's pre-season in 2013 - scoring the winner against Premier League side Sunderland. After three separate loan spells with Burton Albion, the Sutton-in-Ashfield man enjoyed stints with Bristol Rovers, Leyton Orient, Carlisle United and Exeter before joining SPL side Livingston in 2021.

Anthony Knockaert - Fan favourite Knockaert said goodbye to the Foxes in 2015 after 106 appearances for the club, scoring 16 and assisting 15. He enjoyed further success in England with Brighton and Fulham, earning promotion with both sides in 2017 and 2020. He recently joined Greek side Volos on a season-long loan after missing out large parts of last season with injury.

Leon Crncic - The Slovenian joined City from Atalanta in 2010 after leaving his native country the year before. He arrived as a teenager and left before appearing, returning to Slovenia with Rudar Velenje. He made over 260 appearances for them across 10 years. He spent a season in Austria with SV Wildon before returning to Slovenia with SD Sveti Jurij back.

Marko Futacs - The three-time Hungary international joined the Foxes in 2012 from Portsmouth after enjoying a fine debut campaign in England. However, he managed only 12 appearances and two goals for Pearson's side and departed for Turkish side Mersin Idmanyurdu. He joined Hungarian Second Division side MTK Budapest earlier this year and has scored 13 goals in 21 appearances.

Gokhan Inler - Inler joined the Foxes in 2016 after they were crowned champions of England. Expected to fill the hole left by N'golo Kante from Napoli, the former Swiss international struggled to adapt in the East Midlands and was sold under Craig Shakespeare a year later. He's spent the last five years in Turkey, where he's now skipper of Adana Demirspor.

Shinji Okazaki - Another huge favourite amongst the Foxes fanbase, Japanese striker Okazaki ended his four-year stint in LE2 in 2019 after scoring 19 goals in 137 appearances. His move to Malaga ended after two months after budget allowances in Spain before featuring 64 times for SD Huesca. He joined Belgium Pro League A side Sint-Truiden in August and has started every game since arriving.

Ignasi Miquel - The Spanish defender joined the Foxes in the 2013/14 season and played a key role during November and December, but lost his place following the signing of Marcin Wasilewski in January. A short spell with Norwich saw him return to his native home with Ponferradina and has had seven clubs since. He joined La Liga 2 side Granada this summer.

Yohan Benalouane - Former Tunisia international Benalouane spent four years at City and played four league games as they lifted the Premier League trophy in 2016. He gradually saw his game time decrease and joined Nottingham Forest permanently in 2019. He currently plays in Serie C with Novera at 35 years of age and is a regular member of the Italian side’s defence.

Ritchie De Laet - The Belgium right-back left City in 2016 for Aston Villa, but struggled in the West Midlands. Two loan spells abroad with Royal Antwerp and Melbourne City saw him rejoin Antwerp for a third time, on a permanent deal. In 2020, he captained the side to third Belgium Cup.

Luis Hernandez - Like Inler, experienced defender Hernandez joined Ranieri's side as part of the hectic transfer window in 2016. Arriving with European pedigree, the Spaniard struggled in England and made only nine appearances before leaving a year later. He is currently a regular in defence for La Liga side Cadiz following short term stays with Malaga and Maccabi Tel Aviv.

A very dedicated Liverpool fan on twitter has been posting the alleged name of the manager every time someone mentions the case

anagram "Titan Eva"

Yeah I saw that name but he's currently managing so thought that was a bit odd. Would have thought they'd be suspended

Gary Taylor-Fletcher is back in management.

Alongside Ritchie Sutton, the 41-year-old will now form part of a management duo with non-league side Nantwich Town.

Taylor-Fletcher played alongside Sutton during his time at Tranmere Rovers.

His former teammate first moved to Nantwich in July in a player-coach role.

The Dabbers play their football in the Northern Premier Division and languish just one place and two points above the relegation zone.

Their poor form led to Dave Cooke leaving his role as first-team manager at the start of September, as was “mutually agreed” by both parties.

The club has now settled on a new management duo to take the club forward.

“We have been overwhelmed by the quality of applicants and interest in the position,” Nantwich’s acting chairman John Dunning said.

“We are conscious of the importance of retaining the soul, locality, empathy and some of the key elements put in place over the past years that have seen us continue to develop in all areas and create more memorable and successful occasions, whilst remaining competitive at this level.

“In Ritchie, we feel that we have a young enthusiastic, highly-qualified manager with a fresh outlook and ideas.

“He has a personal history, association and understanding of the club and its ideals and culture, but most importantly a shared vision and passion for our future ambitions and development.”

Dunning added: “We are also delighted to have obtained the services of Gary Taylor-Fletcher who is a highly respected and qualified coach.

“The experience that Gary has gained in a distinguished playing career from non-league to the Premier League, along with taking Bangor City to the Europa League in his first managerial position, will be a great asset to the club.

“I am sure that you will all join us in making Ritchie and Gary welcome as they undertake the exciting task of taking us on this next exciting chapter of our journey.”

Having previously managed Welsh sides Bangor City and Llandudno, Taylor-Fletcher was due to move to the US to coach a grassroots and academy programme, but those plans were put on hold due to the pandemic.
