Ex Players - They used to play for us

This from today's Guardian:

"In the case of Phoenix Community Capital, investors bought tokens of a cryptocurrency called fire and 10 tokens earned investors a “nest”.

Each nest offered a return of 0.225 fire tokens a day – meaning they would get their original investment back in 45 days and keep accumulating more. Fire tokens were highly valued earlier in 2022 but by the summer had become almost worthless – and in any case, investors can no longer access their accounts to sell off the tokens.

Under the structure of the project, the company used seven out of every 10 fire tokens from each nest to pay rewards to other investors and two in 10 to invest in new crypto projects, while one in 10 went into a “liquidity pool”. It insisted this approach was sustainable but the investment projects did not appear to have produced returns when the company’s website went offline.

One investor, Alan Rogers, a former Premier League footballer, said he had lost an investment of around $50,000 and he believed the founders were no longer involved."

Full story about Phoenix is here.

Machine.

I wish to have a player like that again. Or one that is allowed to play like that...

Don't. We miss a player like him.

The only map equivalent to that one has been created by Danny Ward: "Shots conceded by Leicester this season".

Not sure where else to post this, but assuming it's an Ex players signature so believe it's somewhat relevant to this thread. A mates trying to identify this signature, thinks it is from around the year 2000. Any help would be appreciated!

Leicester City flop reminds King Power why he was their record signing
Latest Leicester City news from LeicestershireLive looks at how one-time record signing Islam Slimani is faring at new club Anderlecht

Former Leicester City striker Islam Slimani is having a surprise late-career resurgence with Belgian side Anderlecht.

The Algerian forward joined City from Sporting CP in 2016 for £28million, which was then a club-record transfer for Leicester. In the 2016-17 season, he scored seven goals in 23 Premier League appearances; but was unable to progress from there.

After scoring just one in 12 the following season, he joined Newcastle on loan and then had further spells out at Fenerbahce and Monaco. He left City permanently in January 2021, joining Lyon on a free transfer.

In the first half of this season, he scored just once in 16 for Ligue 1 side Brest before joining Anderlecht on February 1. He has since been firing in the goals, to the surprise of many interested spectators.

Slimani, now 34, has scored six in seven league games since moving to Belgium on a short-term contract until the end of the season. His most recent goal came against King Power-owned OH Leuven last weekend, as he scored the opener from the penalty spot in a 2-0 win.

His form in Belgium is a timely reminder to King Power of why he was their record signing at Leicester at the time of his arrival. He has struggled to find the net since leaving Leicester permanently, scoring 14 times in 67 appearances for three different clubs.
