Would never have got out of League 1 first time without him. Absolute hero.

Also his performance in the second leg vs Cardiff in the playoffs was the stuff of legends, he was unplayable.

100% agree. Howard was a beast that night, maybe the game of his City career.

After 66 years watching City, he is in my top five favourite players. Not based on skill, but attitude, desire and never stopped working. A true pro.

It’s all been covered but ;

header vs Leeds

hat trick away to WBA in our yellow topps tiles kit

performance second leg vs Cardiff

big performances with Fryatt week in week out

being an absolute unit

not quite a club legend but I do love super Steve for what he did for us at the time

I remember reading a newspaper article about that Leeds game. He was described as a " Battering ram of a centre forward". It always stuck with me as a great description of a player who gave his all for the team.

Met him once at Heathrow whilst waiting to catch a plane. I was off to Spain for a grass roots footy trip and he was with Newcastle u21s that had just flew back from tournament in Hong Kong 2014..It was funny because Sunderland u21s also there waiting for the same plane to the north east.

Top bloke chatted for five mins.

He was a very limited player. If he came through today I doubt he would have 1 PL season and several Championship seasons under his belt. His type would be nullified easily at Championship level today, especially if he's playing the lone striker in 4231.

I liked him. Honest pro who gave us some good moments. But my god he was ugly to watch. Immobile, zero pace and didn't have a great touch.

Had a decent career though and his goal scoring record at the lower leagues cannot be questioned.

One of my favourite memories was being in the crowd for that last minute header Vs Leeds. Felt like such a restoration of pride in the club

Ground bounced like crazy, small earthquake. One of the best moments in recent LCFC history.
