Love him. What a life to go away for a couple of weeks and have nothing to do other than concentrate on your fitness

Be interesting to see if the fitness drive enhances the til now appallingly bad Bertrand (who most of us felt in pre season last year offered something until Covid)

In the last 3 seasons (114 league games):

Wilf - 77 appearances (3.69 tackles per game)

Hojbjerg - 107 appearances (2.39 tackles per game)

Rice - 104 appearances (2.45 tackles per game)

Moutinho - 106 appearances (2.28 tackles per game)

Bissouma - 84 appearances (2.72 tackles per game)

McGinn - 100 appearances (2.20 tackles per game)

Neves - 107 appearances (2.02 tackles per game)

Tielemans - 107 appearances (1.98 tackles per game)

Ward-Prowse - 112 appearances (1.86 tackles per game)

Fred - 87 appearances (2.34 tackles per game)

Fred has played more league games than Wilf in the last 3 seasons? Brings home the level of our injury issues....

This shows how Spurs are going to play this season those 2 breaking play and feeding maybe Eriksen or someone like him will be very effective, their weak side is the right so they will be looking for a RW so I’d imagine we’ll be fighting these for options.

Surprised Youri is so high and then 1 below JWP just reinforces he could be a great option as a replacement hardworking, drives forward, free kick specialist and someone to just beat the 1st bloody man on corners.

Guest nathan.

We are a much harder team to break down with him in the side.

Im looking forward to seeing Wilf and KDH in the same team.

Wilf really has struggled for fitness over the past 3 years. Its a big reason as to why he’s still playing for us and not a bigger club.

Everybody knows Wilf is a tackling machine but unfortunately his pass completion stats are not so good. There again I expect that to improve over the next few seasons. He should be at his peak in his late twenties.

Looking forward to having him back, anyone know if he’s ready to start pre season full with the rest in couple of weeks?

Think he's already been doing a bit himself yes.

As for the above posts. He stats are so could cuz he made 142 tackles and then 142 mis placed passes so had to win it back again. He'd be better than kante if he could pass.

Steady on now, Kante was a class above for us and Chelsea (for the first couple of seasons)

Not even commenting on the obvious that Kante offered but his intelligence on the football pitch was something else, he knew when he could press really high up the pitch to knick the ball for one.

N’Didi has shown glimpses of that and I love Wilf but he doesn’t touch peak Kante.

Also shows what an amazing player Moutinho has been

He’s about 80 and still making this amount of tackles!

When he did play he was poor last season. That said, he was probably carrying that knee injury in some form for far longer than we realise, like a few in the squad.

I hope we seem him back to his best this year. I was pretty happy with Mendy overall, but an in-form Wilf is one of, if not the best, DMF in the league on his day.

As others have said, if he could pass a ball more than three yards he'd have left us years ago. :P

Got stick for it last season, even though the stats backed me up, but over the past 18 months or so we've been a better side when he hasn't played.

He's just not been the player he used to be for a long long time now, not since January 2021 probably.
