Surely the club must be worried that their assets are depreciating due to too many injuries

Rodgers’ man management surely has to be being questioned by people at the top?

Over played Vardy in December when he was clearly struggling. 3 games in one week for JJ who’s been out for 11 months. Ricardo constantly not managed now for over a year. Evans. Cags.

The list is endless

In an ideal world of course you would rest them but we just don’t have the backups at the moment due to injuries etc. dammed if you do or don’t situation. It’s either play them or face criticism for throwing in fringe players and not fielding a strong team. We probably should have bought players in to strengthen defensive options in January but funds must be very tight for our owners given the pandemic and we had on paper players coming back. Our owners have been great though so no recriminations. Vardy should have been rested more definitely. Must have felt Kel and Daka weren’t ready. Looking back a bad option and particularly as injury must have been known before it became so bad. Hindsight.

Why would any elite club risk their multi-million pound assets in the care of Brendan Rodgers?

It’s all very well having world class training facilities but if your players are never doing anything other than injury rehab there then what’s the point?

These days they can tell when a player is in the ‘red zone’ due to muscle fatigue, hydration etc. so he’s clearly making conscious decisions to play at-risk players. And that’s what annoys me when people use the injuries as an excuse for his short-comings this season - he’s lying in a bed he himself has made.

Perhaps but in many cases he’s had other options and not used them. It’s also been made worse by what seems to be his own signings (the Southampton two).

We had Thomas fit on the bench for the last game and so it’s not like he had to play JJ. Thomas was good enough vs Chelsea in the FA cup final so it’s not like we would be throwing a 15 year old on. We even played better with him on!

In his press conference Brendan mentioned the plan was to give Thomas a rest at the weekend, as our youngest defender. He has also played a lot of minutes recently, and then to rest JJ for Thursdays game.

With the benefit of hindsight maybe he should have played Thomas instead of Justin?! But am guessing he wanted Justin to play the weekend prem games and Thomas the European/ midweek games for now. Just unfortunate JJ got injured as it sounds like he would’ve got a weeks rest otherwise. But story of our season

Depend were you look on the internet, according to the NHS there is just 3 https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/hamstring-injury/

A hamstring injury is a strain or tear to the tendons or large muscles at the back of the thigh.

It's a common injury in athletes and can happen in different severities. The 3 grades of hamstring injury are:

  • grade 1 – a mild muscle pull or strain
  • grade 2 – a partial muscle tear
  • grade 3 – a complete muscle tear

The length of time it takes to recover from a hamstring strain or tear will depend on how severe the injury is.

A minor muscle pull or strain (grade 1) may take a few days to heal, whereas it could take weeks or months to recover from a muscle tear (grade 2 or 3).

I totally agree. Have you never tried to push servicing your car an extra month or so when money is tight. Some days you do things for what you think are reasonable reasons knowing that you are taking a risk. Human nature. It’s a big shame and I am defending anyone. With collectively responsibility somehow we need to have people speak up and get these marginal decisions right. But then again where would no risk get us

Luke is going to be an even more fabulous player. Right now fully fit ricci and Justin are the two best and probably chosen to atone for central weaknesses. It was a risk though. Vardy was the same. We’ve been through the purchase of Bertrand and vesty to death. Hasn’t worked so far. Hindsight we were rogered sorry Brendan 😀

What we should be doing is resting them both, playing amartey as a fullback and the £15m defender he signed at cb but that defender is so abysmal its not even a last ditch option.

He shouldn’t be a starter, but you need people who aren’t starters too.

Absolutely but as a utility squad player like he is he should be able to play fullback is my point, I don't think he's particularly less effective there. But he can't play fullback when the only cb avaible to take his place is a £15m +wages waste of a squad place.

You'll notice I copied from the same site but added my own Stage 4 as a joke...muscles don't dissolve as far as I know lol
