Little council estate just off the main Station rd, a few yards from railway Inn pub. 

 

The tunnel is still there today, though fenced off. 

 

And 2 x smoke chimneys fuether into the tunnel are still dotted around in New Parks

This is Rutland Street, with the ODEON on the right taken in November 1940. You can see a fire being put out in the distance. I’m sure it is Freeman Hardy Willis as this was destroyed by fire after a bombing raid by the Luftwaffe oat 8pm 19th November. There are still a lot of people about. Maybe going to work.
