I can’t say I’ve heard a great deal of noise about the trade deal. Isn’t it worth less than a billion dollars? Bad idea anyway with goods having to be transported from half a world away with accompanying emissions. Better to trade with near neighbours

think it also "allows" working rights... in simple terms ensures cheap labour in uk pubs and on Oz farms

Both true and bitter, at least it will make emigration to the #1 country for Brits a lot easier to get away from them.

lol ... Emigrating is a VERY different matter... i mean if you are a white english person you are off to a good start, but Im sure there are a couple of expats here that can advise some of the costs and difficulties..... but this agreement is just about slave labour in both countries.

Wouldn’t it be great if there was an agreement to trade in place between a few local countries within the same content… A union of countries if you like…

Peng Shuai's video is horrifying. You can see the fear in her eyes as she's giving her 'testimony'. The body language honestly reminds me of some of the Daesh propaganda featuring captured western journalists and aid workers.

Even the USSR took women's equality in a better way.

If the Chinese government are that interested in "socialist" values, perhaps they might consider that.

Seems to be a big issue over here at the moment, lack of staff everywhere.  Grapes might be left on the vines ffs and that is a crisis.

https://www.euroweeklynews.com/2021/12/23/trans-woman-jailed-for-having-sex-with-a-dog/

TRANS woman, Claire Goodier, who was previously known as John, has been jailed for 20 months today (December 23) after videos were found of her having sex with a dog during a cocaine-fuelled sex session with a group and an Alsatian.

...

I know you shouldn't laugh, but the bit that got me was:

“She said she had fantasised about it for a number of years and after talking about it with people in Northwich, was put in touch with others in Bournemouth."

Is there something in the water up in Northwich ?

What do you make of this, Mac?

Politician surprisingly orders release of other politician convicted of corruption rather shouts out one thing to me. And it ain’t compassion.

Difficult to tell, to be honest. Moon had no pressing political reason to pardon her, but I don't see where the payoff for him would be coming from if he was doing it for favours, either. She's not exactly popular with the populace at large, either, another reason for him not to do it.

Until there's a solid idea of where the "pork" is, I'm going to be an idealist here and say that his motivations are mostly compassionate in this case.
