Sad to see the deniers are still out in force at the Clock Tower, god knows what their demands actually are at this point, since the majority of the country has already had the vaccine they're calling "deadly" quite some time ago, and life is about as normal as it was before now.

Sad they feel they can't put their energy towards something that matters.

Like you say the majority are already vaccinated so a few lunatics protesting is irrelevant. Their demands are still relevant as we go into the 4th jab phase. It doesn’t bother me as I will obvs get my 4th, 5th etc jabs and life is more fun with a small minority of fringe lunatics around

Not shouting at clouds so much but standing by my previous comments revisited by Milo who makes fair if slightly barbed comment by the way  but then laughed at by line-x which is an example of the type of logic fascism which I often come accross by line-x and others on here...and in the face of my honest personsl reflection on events seems unkind

....Im not a covid-denyer or anti-vaxer or staunch Tory but I do have some skepiticism about the onslaught of "science" that came with the pandemic and therefore some issues with the subsequent public policies

Line-x wants to paint that view as madness...well tough I'm not the only one who thinks that science logic does not  represents the absolute truth

? I placed a laughing emoji under Milo's comment because it genuinely made me laugh, that's all. I think you might be reading a bit too much into this.

Spain have annoyed me immensely. Announced last week they'd extended the restrictions until June 15th at the earliest.

So I was put in a position where I needed to have the booster jab or risk not being able to go on a trip I'd arranged months ago for me and 7 others. Reluctantly had the booster on Thursday and yet again I've been riddled with horrid side effects. Wake up yesterday to see they've changed their minds and aren't now waiting until 15th June to lift restrictions.

Not amused.

Covid seems to be making a one last tour style comeback at the moment with a lot my my friends and work colleagues going down with it some feeling fairly crap for a week or two, media seems to be fairly silent and I suppose hospital admissions are probably staying stable so it’s a no story for them but just wondered if anyone is experiencing the same and no I’m not a super spreader before anyone try’s that 😁

Did hear on Friday that the UK had a million cases currently. Also there was a recommendation on my YouTube feed. Some Dr warning of another major wave.Didn’t watch it.But yes it’s still floating about. My step kids were both getting tested regularly for their jobs during the peak’s.Couldn’t even tell you if that’s still the case. Most of my friends and family got away with it until the latest variant came along this Winter /Spring,then boom.So I’m guessing everyone’s vulnerable again.

Yep same here ..  lots of friends and family have got it or had it over the last few weeks ..  symptoms varied a bit but generally it was like a heavy cold but worse ..  I feel like sh1t but keep testing negative. One friend was quite bad. And two others who got it when it first started still haven’t got their taste/smell back to normal.  Something we all have to live with I’m afraid ….

First time I have tested positive (suspect I had it two times previous, but didn't have access to testing to confirm). Not been too bad this time thankfully, although somehow completely missed the fact I had lost my sense of smell. I was walking by Cadburys factory yesterday evening with my husband who remarked on how strong the chocolate smell was that evening, but I couldn't smell anything.

Lol. It's probably helpful for me not to be able to smell it to be honest! At least my sense of taste is holding up ok. I did a bit of an experiment - I can't smell chocolate or gas, but I can smell deep heat cream!

After Spain completely lifted it's mask wearing several weeks ago I expected people to still be wearing them in many settings. Well I've been pleasantly surprised that is not the case, where I am anyway. You still get a few here and there and some loons outside but they seem to have ditched then on mass. No doubt they'll get them back on when told to but for now it's bliss.

I was in Menorca until Sunday and wasn't allowed on the bus without one, to the extent that I was made to go and buy one before they would allow me to board.

Public transport is the only exception. But I've noticed a few people with them under their nose which you'd never get here before.

Really old people in supermarkets have surprised me the most. I honestly thought most would carry on with them.

I received a random text 2 weeks ago from the NHS saying I been in close contact with someone who'd tested positive for the omicron variant and I needed to order a PCR test asap. Went onto the NHS website via the link provided and ordered a test paying 99p for postage. Not heard anything since but they took my 99 p out! The strange thing is I'd not been in close contact with anyone that week other than walking within a few meter of people at the park or opening the door to for a few takeaways I'd ordered. Didn't even know i had track & trace on my phone.

I want my 99p back!

Not great news for those of us hoping this was a one way street ..

According to preliminary data from Kei Sato at the University of Tokyo and colleagues, BA.4, BA.5 and BA.2.12.1 may have evolved to refavour infection of lung cells, rather than upper respiratory tract tissue – making them more similar to earlier variants, such as Alpha or Delta.

Currently have it for the first time. It was truly terrible for the first two days. Now it's just lingering but the grogginess is weird and I can't smell or taste a bloody thing. Hoping it comes back soon.

Your sense of smell or the virus?
