This didn’t age well 😂😂

For someone who 51 people have agreed with on over 800+ posts, you have an awful lot to say... lol

Edit - It's the only thing you seemed to get repped for, so I understand why you keep banging that same drum..

I’d be interested to know how many people consider themselves likely to change their behaviours from Monday? Is there anything you’d do different as compared to what you do now? How about family or acquaintances? For instance, I’m not sure the change will have much effect on me - I’ll likely continue with a mask in shops until further notice, and I’m wondering whether those that wouldn’t are already not doing so. ie, aside from saying it’s not illegal and more advisory, would much actually change practically?

I figure a big problem will be that “Freedom Day” effectively just becomes a w*nkers’ charter, that shop workers in Tesco’s and the likes will be met with some rude and belligerent people proudly slobbering that they don’t have to wear no mask no more. But beyond that, will there be an appreciable difference in public behaviour?

(This is all as opposed to reintroducing restrictions as compared to where we are pre-Freedom Day to suppress the current wave, which I imagine would go down as well as a serving of rat soup.)

For the foreseeable, I’ll continue to wear my mask etc and won’t be exposing myself to areas with mass crowds etc.

We all know that the virus is going to spread, however it helps with other illnesses too, I don’t see any reason why not.

I’ve only been in small shops etc for the past two years and have mostly migrated to online shopping. This is something that’ll stay, as it’s more convenient.

This is my issue - it’s simply unfair on workers.  Supermarkets/ retail chains/travel  should get together and  take out national media advertising stating that they require masks to be worn for the time being (if that’s what they believe makes their staff safer- having many of them pinged will cause big problems for them).  A statement that those who don’t have a medical reason for not wearing them will be escorted off their premises/buses/trains etc would I’m sure be appreciated by their staff. As you say, those who don’t want to wear one and don’t respect the wishes of others will take advantage of the law change and start an argument…….

Agee with this 100%.

However, I guess they’re balancing the risk of everyone getting pinged with not wanting to turn away the customer base.

I’m guessing the people that don’t wear them, also don’t have the app.

I think we’ll likely see many disruptions within the next couple of months, due to the proxy lockdown from so many people isolating, therefore pushing the herd immunity plan.

Obviously a minor point in all this but public transport is getting busier and there is still an unsaid awkwardness about sitting beside someone else.

At this stage it would be good if the transport companies had something indicating whether people can sit beside others and if anyone sitting down should let them. In my view, people are using it as an excuse to take up a couple of seats even when transport is busy.

To be honest nothing will change for me, I'll still wear a mask on public transport / the shops etc

Seems to be a mixed feeling on our company site within colleagues.

Some are worried but quite  a lot are “glad to get rid of them so they can move and breathe easier”

My store are going to “encourage” people wear masks and are keeping the protective screens at the tills .

Guess we will see - most customers did usually wear a mask but more and more weren’t or it was half way down their chin!

That's not logic at all.  Please don't make things up and assume that that is what I would have said if I hadn't said something different.  The point is, we have done lockdown, we have now found a vaccine, and if someone doesn't want the vaccine and would prefer that the rest of us lock down to save him having the jab, he can whistle.  He can shut himself away if he wants, or he can go out and risk the virus and be treated for it if he wants.  But I would no more deny an anti-vaccine person treatment ofr coronavirus than I would deny a fat person treatment for diabetes or a horse rider treatment for falling off or a dangerous driver treatment for his crash injuries.

That's not the issue though is it. They will end up in hospital in significant numbers as will younger people partially vaccinated. This will clog up the NHS. The number of infections is out of control, health providers and social care providers will not have enough fit people to go to work let alone public services etc.

Hard to see any way we can avoid reaching 100k infections per day.

Hope not, hope the vaccines remain effective but the next few weeks could well be chaos.

Their vaccine roll out has been pretty effective but restrictions are starting to come back in.

Yet over a period of days 6 (SIX) people were taken seriously ill in hospital.

Bojo and Sunak aren’t isolating after coming into contact with Javid due to participating in ‘a pilot’ that has literally been made up on the spot 😂😂😂😂

Yet the rest of us are expected to lose all income if it happens to us. Wow

ah this, got to love that they at least try to make it seem legit

Honestly, if it wasn’t so blatant I’d probably be pissed off but this is just funny. How are they going to expect anyone to follow it now? It’s done

Honestly the PR person must bloody hate their job, constantly justifying absolutely bullshit things.

It'll be done for many, but many others will just ignore the stupidity of some and carry on. Work has already announced we'll be sticking to Covid policies after they're lifted

I'll be carrying on as I have been doing... wearing masks on public transport and shops, plus I can work from home luckily.

My 72 year old mum has told me to ignore getting pinged by the T&T app as well :D. Not been pinged yet though.

Agreed. First Michael Gove and now this. If that's the approach and the top then fat chance of most people acting on pings now.

I’ve been around here for 14 years , don’t think you could like posts up until last couple of years 🤷 also I don’t post anything hoping for likes , I left Facebook a few years ago for that.
I suppose you probably found it hard to defend your favourite news channel GB News so decided to pick me up on who likes my posts 😂 you’d probably do well actually working on GB news with your comments

Different rules for them and us - imagine how difficult it would be for the average joe to get on that ‘pilot’, yet in less than a few weeks three govt ministers and the PM have done so !

I was referencing the staff being pinged and then the stores being short staffed, not the punters !

Quite clearly, if you can read that is, I stated that they had actual debates, specifically in reference to the protests in London, which the established news channels ignored. I also stated, that you had to pick the presenters you watch.

No one seems to like your posts, so that wasn't what I was doing.

You keep banging that same drum and making things up to suit your narrative though china...
