Read that back again mate. Again, we are not good enough. Can’t be relying on Ayoze Perez to dig us out in a top four crunch match. We need better, they’ve got better. Simple fact of the matter

There is no ‘simple fact of the matter’. Seasons are decided on moments and luck.  Liverpool had amazing moment with their keeper in the dying seconds. Perez fluffed his lines. That can come down to pressure in the moment. Nothing to do with squad.

I don’t think we will have much to spend again next season without it as like most clubs we are skint

True but if we can get Soumere and Eduardo as is rumoured and possibly Gosens which is also a strong rumour. Get Barnes Ricardo and Justin fit again we will have a squad to compete.

If Tielemans or Madison is sold then we'll have the funds to replace them. It'll be tough but Brendan keeps finding a way to keep things ticking over.

We might be skint but we're definitely looking to spend quite a bit over the summer.

The switch to 5 at the back has cost us.

Which was a result of all of our injuries

Aside from Kasper haven’t we had every player from our starting XI out for at least a few games this season?

We’ve had it tougher than the leagues biggest victims, and have arguably coped better despite a significantly weaker squad.

I think if we’re totally honest with ourselves, we’re not that bothered about missing out on CL football, as much as we’re worried that our best players could start leaving as a result of that…

And possibly failing to attract one or two who might have come? Also it is gutting that too the usual willy pullers will fill the top four spots.

Granted we've had our fair share of injuries but we could of at least attempted the formation that worked so well in the first half of the season. Keeps sticking with this back 5 that doesn't work.

Course it is, we didn’t lose it in that one defining moment. We’ve been shit against teams we should break down. That’s a squad quality problem too.

Gosens won’t come here unless we have CL which is probably not the type of attitude we want anyway tbf

Which has been largely caused by the injuries. Once Barnes was fcuked, we lacked pace going forward. Compounded by Justin as well.

Absolutely gotta get a winger in with the ability to take a player on.

That back five worked at the very start of the season in part because of Barnes ability to get you up the pitch

Some of you lot seem to just want some big sexy away days, we’d get humped as a bottom seeded team.

One step at a time.

Better than getting beat by some Ukrainian and Czech farmers on a Thursday in the losers league.  Generally gets won by the Champions league  group stage losers.

It’s a matter of being really fvcking hard to do. Hence why it feels like a glorified closed shop.

Exactly. It's not a coincidence that other than us I can't think of another non-big club finishing in the top four.

The PL is a bit like Mario Kart. The big clubs just pull the stars and red shells out at the end to ultimately win it....

When you are completing gain at clubs with squads worth around £300-400m more than yours, what do you expect? Those clubs should be worried that teams like us and West Ham are closing the gap. It’s not us that should be embarrassed, it’s them. Nearly a billion £‘s worth of players and they’re scraping into the top 4.... not good enough really is it.... we’ve got half of those resources and are just missing out. No reason to kick ourselves for that. We will have our time, we’re run properly, and when we do, they will all know about it.

That actually explains Man Utd's run last season. Picked up a shit load of Jon Moss pickups, each one a guaranteed penalty goal. Meanwhile we're at the front being shafted over and over again by some special attack which makes it completely impossible to get a handball decision.

We can talk about how long we spent in the Top 4 until the cows come home, the only stat that matters is where we finish. We’ve had the hardest run in of all the top 4 clubs whilst Liverpool have a bunch of teams with nothing to play for.

We’re proving we can consistently compete for these spots and disrupt the “big 6”, I’m happy with that. Rome wasn’t built in a day.

Gosens is also a tad against our policy when it comes to big spends. He’s 26. Three years sees him at 29 and his value dipping.

Generally if we go senior, we normally do it on the cheap or a freebie.
