League Cup Round 2+3 Draw: Sunday 2pm

Recommended Posts

Both the 2nd and 3rd round draws are happening tomorrow after Brentford/Wycombe.

With only 58 clubs left in the competition and another round to play before we enter, the only way we'll know who we'll face tomorrow is if we draw one of the other European involved clubs. Otherwise we'll wait a week and a half.

Remaining Clubs:

League 2: Harrogate Town, Bradford City, Morecambe, Port Vale, Salford City, Oldham, Leyton Orient, Cheltenham Town, Cambridge United, Newport

League 1: Portsmouth, Burton, Plymouth, Gillingham, Lincoln, Rochdale, Fleetwood, Hull, Charlton, Northampton, Oxford United, Ipswich

Championship: Preston, Blackburn, Stoke, Boro, Derby, Millwall, Bristol City, Wednesday, Barnsley, Coventry, Luton, Reading, Winner of Brentford/Wycombe, Bournemouth, Watford

Prem involved R2: Villa, Brighton, Burnley, Palace, Everton, Fulham, Leeds, Newcastle, Blades, Southampton, WBA, West Ham, Wolves

-----

Prem entering R3: Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Us, Spurs, Arsenal

Forest were knocked out.

League 2 side at home please, this is the least important comped for us this season and at the stage we are at in preparation For the season a game on our pitch where all of our fringe players can get 90 competitive minutes under their belt would be ideal.

With fixture congestion across all 4 divisions this season and no crowds, I don’t expect anyone to play full strength teams.

Le'ts be honest, it is fourth priority this year, I don't think they'll be too bothered if we go out.

Yeah after all we’re one of the big boys now so allowed to field a weakened team.

The whole competition looks flat. Bradford/ Lincoln, Luton and Leyton Orient/ Plymouth could've had a dream tie with a full house in normal circumstances- now they'll play a big side in front of nobody. I'd imagine our match will be two reserve teams in an empty stadium.

I wouldn't want it to go permanently but with the schedule as it is, a lot of the appeal of the League Cup is lost by the restrictions. A year off may have been better.
