When at 90% fit he's about 1/10th the player he is when fully at it, and I honestly think he was ruined a couple of seasons back when he seemed to play every single match for us. The European competitions are generally not as fast as the premiership more technical and tactical. If he's only playing half the games he may actually appear a bit fresher. The entire team was/is very unfit, but former players will often say that thinking about their move away will affect a player's performances because they'll be worried about sustaining an injury. At the end of the day the club shouldn't have allowed a situation where the squad was full of these cases so the buck stops with the board.
