Maddison

Recommended Posts

Much improved and really the only positive from today’s game. The new guys look a little short of confidence (excluding ade)

I think as the other options haven’t taken their chance I don’t mind if we get Madison back in. It’s how football should be, if you put in a good performance you get rewarded.

The issue is Barnes looks lost again and if JM doesn’t step up we are going to be  carrying 2 men again.

we also still don’t have a way of getting Kel on the pitch.

He was great when he came on. Slower paced technical football really suits him and he was unlucky not to score.

He should have come on at half time.

He’d be better off playing in Spain or Italy, he would get better protection from referees and the pace of the game would be better suited to a player like him who often wants an extra touch.

Even when he's not at his best he's a bloody sight better and more dangerous than Soumare, KDH (at the moment) and Perez. Brendan is having a blonde moment with team selections this season and is all lost at sea. He repeatedly comments that the Europa League is what the club fought for last season then picks that negative shambles of a line up. Really think he should follow the old saying that the most important game is the next one. Cock it up at Palace and his whole approach to rotation will be shown to be farcical.

Probably one positive from last night was Maddison, he looked hungry and was trying to make things happen. Probably unlucky not to have an assist and wasn't far off having a good chance to score. He did his usual thing of beating a man and cutting back onto his right rather than shooting with his left, which infuriates me. But he was a bright spot on a dismal evening of football. Hopefully we see more of that Madders going forwards.

They were really poor at the back .

This made him look OK.He will be poor again in the Premier league against better players.

can't accommodate him in our best eleven

Or parez.

an in form Maddison would be the first name on the team sheet for me.
