Maddison

Southgate is a proven loser. He deserves no slack. We didn’t win two tournaments because he refused to play our best players. He has his favourites which take precedence over team success. Look at his penalty takers against Italy, not based on ability, but his PC views, which he put above the national interest. Got no time for the man.

What on earth are you on about?

We should cash in on Ndidi.... don't think he's going to get better.

Would be really disappointed if we sell Maddison.

Tielemans...it's up to him, if he wants to go then we can't do anything but if wants to stay then hopefully he gets back to playing better

It would be far harder to replace ndidi than maddison. Ndidi is one of the best defensive midfielders in the world when he's fit and firing, maddison is amongst lots of other good attacking midfielders.

We shouldn't be looking to sell maddison or ndidi.

Surely it's agent talk? Perhaps Madders agent trying to either drum up a better contract or push for a move before Youri leaves.

No way we let our two creative CMs go in the same window. Might as well forfeit our league place.

Perhaps agent knows this and reckons if Youri goes, then Maddison isn't going anywhere for a couple of years and there won't be any sweet signing on money.

Must be or someone with an agenda. Madders is young and his improvements this season have been excellent. Why sell him just so that we can buy more average players to put on the bench and not play them?? Mind you, we could not even register Mendy, had to send Praet on loan, still have Perez, Soumare and the like on the bench. Rodgers even commented a year or so ago at we have too big of a squad and he needs to trim it.

We don’t need to sell one of our better players for more bench players please. (Unless it is a scam like what we did with Maguire.)

Don’t get the game time as much though

Indeed, Guardiola rotates. That doesn't stop the fact that Grealish doesn't realistically belong in the England squad based on current form.

Some people go with the 'they've done well for England previously' line. This is guff, England need to pick those who are playing well now.

When he was struggling the newshounds didn't want to know. There were plenty on here doing him down as well.

Now we're seeing (again) just how phenomenal he is the s**t-stirrers down London way want him to move, so's they print read-all-about it articles featuring him in Arsenal (etc) colours. In their eyes you're not a really great player until you belong to a 'big' club.

What price Bobby Moore - one of the greatest players in England and World History? Content to stay at West Ham for most of his career.

I get players wanting to take the challenge, but plenty of fancied footballers sink into anonymity in the cauldron of expectations.

LeTiss at Southampton another example.

He will go to United, Spurs or Arsenal within the next 2 years because Southgate (and to a certain extent our injury and recruitment situation) is making it impossible for him not to).

His stats and his way of playing mean that he should be on the international scene. Left foot, right foot, long range, tap ins, assists, free kicks, key passes - he's delivering on all fronts - as well as tracking back and getting stuck in.

His stats alone this season are better than or on a par with foden and mount and better than all the others.

Your right, if Maddison is in any of those teams, Southgate will pick him for the England team.

Feel that Southgate doesn't really like Leicester from when he felt he was forced to have Vardy in the national team because the media was banging on he should be picked.

I bet he will still pick Rashford for Qatar even through he's crap from....... Southgate's comments last week that he will talk to Rashford to discuss his future with England.

Love how much it looked like it meant to him at the end.

Has really gone up another level this season in output, defensive work rate and that ability to grab a game by the scruff of the neck and drag us through.

We should be building our team around him moving forwards.

Love him. He genuinely seems to relish winning these types of things, we saw it when he celebrates Youri's FA cup final goal from the bench.

He won't be in the England WC squad because he doesn't wear a Man City shirt...but he absolutely should be.
