Deffo have been guilty of slating Maddison but he has shown a massive maturity in his game this season and has been doing some tidy pressing off the ball.

G’warn #Laddison, still not getting any of your Boohoo Man garms though lad x

It’s 2022, how hasn’t “Laddison” become a thing by now? 😂

I'm not sure we can afford to lose Youri and Maddison in the same window.

No, I agree. Tuchel must have looked at players like Maddison and Fofana last night and saw that they were our stand out players in a team that was on the back foot nearly all game. When players like that can shine in a team under pressure, he’d be thinking how good they’d look in a confident, dynamic, ‘top’ team.

Same with Youri.. we know when he’s playing in a side that’s controlling games, he shines and stands out.

Maddison would grace any side in the Prem on current form.
He’s got that thing that Guardiola loves…that movement that changes defence to attack with one quick turn. And of course, he can score goals too. Compared to how he was for the first half of the season, he looks a completely different player. But we know he was suffering from that hip injury at that point.

The summer transfer window could be very interesting this year.

11 Premier League goals in a season for a non-striker who doesn’t take penalties is prettty great.

That’s level with Ulloa and Dickov’s best PL scoring season for us and better than Heskey’s, Okazaki’s or Marshall’s for example. Who are all cult heroes for us.

And the 17 in all competitions is actually only behind Vardy and Mahrez in the PL era and if he scores vs Saints he’ll equal Mahrez’ best scoring season even.

So realistically do to think he will stay/want to stay with us not playing in Europe next season? Personally I think we may have to fight to keep him but I hope I'm wrong of cause.

Losing one creative midfielder this summer might be regarded as a misfortune; losing two would look like carelessness.

He embodies the reason you have to give players time sometimes and be patient with them.

A few seasons ago he lacked the consistency and form some expected. Injury prone and perhaps adjusting to the physical and dynamic nature of the PL.

Now, you have a 25 year old approaching his peak and we are reaping the rewards. A stellar season and glad to have witnessed it.

The great thing? He could be even better next season...

Him and Bowen should be starting the next England game. No other players in their positions are coming close to them in terms of performance levels.

This is the first time we've seen him put together more than a couple of months of good form together. For the love of god James, don't let it dip over the summer :D

I've always said the ability is there, the battle for Maddison has always been in his head. He's never looked like having that elite mentality and drive to be the best he can every game. Coming into his mid 20's now he's probably realising that he's got to be at it every week, he can't just coast on his unbelievable talent.

One thing I've always loved are his interviews, he actually speaks like a normal person rather than a dumb dumb media trained robot. Whether it's with us or another club, he's destined to go to the top if he keeps grafting and injury free.

All that being said, if someone came in and offered us 70+ million, I think I'd take it. Purely so we can keep the conveyor belt turning. We've got to back ourselves to keep picking up talented players or this will be a very short-lived period of success for us.

It doesn't matter who we pick up , without Vardy, Maddison, Evans and  an in form Tielemans , we are looking at a cliff edge. Nobody is irreplaceable but transitions are usually painful.

I was a heavy critic of Maddison at the start of the season and I still think it was an error to keep playing him if he was supposed to have been injured, but he's really stepped it up a level this season. He's become one of our top goal threats.

Southgate simply cannot ignore him now, especially given how poor other English midfielders have done in 2022 compared to him.

Wanna bet? 🤣 Southgate had zero interest in picking madders

Why don't keep reading  comments about madders' head/attitude?

Is it possible his 'head' has always been right and just fans sway their opinion of him depending on his performances?

A few boozy holiday photos with birds in mykonos, lads night at the darts and silly expensive clothes isn't an indicator to me of a bad attitude. Sounded then (and still sounds now) reassuringly normal.to me

The shit storm came when he went the casino and the media jumped on it and made him out to be someone he isn’t. There’s not one footballer, especially in the prem that hasn’t or doesn’t do everything that he’s done regarding clothes, holidays and lads nights. It’s a normal thing to do.

There’s a clip of Haaland off his bonce in a club in a Dortmund tracksuit doing the rounds at the minute yet everyone’s loving it. Imagine if that was over here?

All it takes is one bad portrayal in the media, especially in England and your card is marked.

Don’t think we’ve ever had someone come across as well as him in interviews, his performances this season have been the Maddison that we all thought we were getting. It’s been great to see especially after a bumpy ride, but I think part of that was down to the hype around his potential. But I’m so glad he’s put that potential into his performances now.

It’ll be an absolute disgrace if he’s not back in the England squad for the Nations league games.

We should build the team around Madders, KDH, and Wes.. Wes should be #1 priority.. He will be one of the best CB's in the world.

We'd of been in Europe this season if he wasn't injured I reckon, I will always wish sh*t on Villarreal for that..

Madders ha been brilliant since he sorted his head out. Something was wrong with him Was it him not making the England squad? Becoming a Dad? The lack of sh*t clothes/accessories ? Whatever it was that was doing his head in? seemed to lift half way through the season, and he was brilliant, smiling, and enjoying his football.

He seems to be working harder too?

Chuck the checkbook at the 3 of them, and fill the gaps!

Whilst I totally agree mate.

Mount’s numbers this season have been class.

I read someone stating it’s ESR and Grealish’s spots that should be under threat.
