Maddison

Recommended Posts

How are people now saying that he's off? You're a player who's been denied England call-ups because the NT coach is questioning your character, you're not gonna go in front of the media and throw your coach under the bus. He's literally just rattling down media training 101 right now.

Who would even go for Maddison/ where would he fit?

United- Fernandes, Eriksen
Man City- Foden, Grealish, Bernardo, De Bruyne
Liverpool- Jota, Carvalho, Firmino, Elliot
Arsenal- Ødegaard, Smith-Rowe, Fabio Vieira
Tottenham- just look at how they played today, theyve got two steely midfielders in Højbjerg and Bentancur and 3 natural forwards, he doesn't fit
Chelsea- Mount, Chukwumeka, Pulisic, Sterling are all taking up that attacking midfielder spot

Playing the media game.

No player, or rarely at best, calls out their under-pressure manager.

My feeling is that the squad, or at least most of it, feels like Rodgers' time is up very, very soon.

Really disagree. They're clearly distraught. We often put 100% on the manager but the Ulster man can't help defensive instability. I don't think any manager could against such sharp attacking threat. It's worrying, but we have a decent run to come.

Two set piece goals.

Ndidi major error.

Couple of Son brilliance from break aways.

What do you want from us? A flat back 5, sit back all game, Dyche in the managers seat and only lose 1-0?

We're going to concede and keep conceeding against these teams with our players. Our best hope is hitting weaker opponents hard. It's been a difficult run outside of Southampton and Brentford.

I always slated him for only appearing for his banter filled interviews after we'd won. Firstly, one of the few to play well today, so credit there. Secondly, well done for fronting up after that abomination. Can't hold the earlier gripe against you ever again.

What a lad honestly. Should be club captain really. Was the best player on the pitch including both teams until Son turned up for his cameo.

You can see in his interview how dejected he is after the recent results and missing out on the England squad again. Speaks well as usual but doesn’t have the same spark in himself.

Absolutely no chance he stays beyond this summer though realistically is there

He’s absolutely raging he’s not been called up for England. What more can he possibly do?

I read that since he’s joined us he’s had more goals and assists than all of his competitors. Incredible really and in a less fancied side. Even this year in where we are you’d say he has performed and has that stats to back it up.

Its the classic England not accommodating a maverick. It’s happened so many times down the years.

You are off your head. You genuinely believe it’s the players and not Rodgers, mental.

I believe a manger is essentially worthless in the grand scheme, not just at Leicester but in football. Outside of defining a playing style and tactical setup (telling players where to play,) you could have a worm with automated subs be manager and get the same results. The manager is significantly overvalued as a result and football teams are plotted against the table with their current ability/wage (or cost/value) in mind. There are only some exceptions to that rule but even when we won the league, we all largely agree not much of it was 'down to Ranieri'. He said '4411 and play a bit more direct.' It was built on years of excellent recruitment. The players did the rest. We know that, so why is this any different? The fact is that we are significantly weaker as a unit, our 11, specifically defence, is not at the standard we expect it to be, and how much of that you can actually put on a football manager is really debatable - honestly, IF we went out and bought Pope, and we didn't sell Fofana, Ricardo was fit and we replaced Evans - we wouldn't be here talking about this at all. If you want to get rid of the manager fine, they tend to have 2-3 years shelf life till players get bored or have changed too much anyway, but If you want to stop the rot you need a new management structure, and a new 11.

Back on topic, Maddison is absolutely fantastic and should be in the England team. He's a constant stand out and is a top 6 player in waiting. But he's our only one right now.
