if the injury issue is true and we don’t know when he’ll be be back playing for us it’s bad news.

 

if the knee is not an issue and it’s a smoke screen for a potential move than that’s a kick in the balls when the team is already down.

 

Either way he looked as pissed off as the rest of us watching that dog turd performance in the 1st half. We all know if he was playing he’d be trying to get us back into that game. Maybe he’s thinking he’s done with this half assed team. Can we really blame him?

love Madders, but expect he will be moving to pastures new before long (probably the Summer).

 

the concern will be with 18 months left on his contract we will get rinsed on the fee. Then, given our recent record of replacing our top talent, the level of player we can bring in.

One of two things this I guess. The first, which isn’t out of the question based on what Pep said about Phillips, is that we aren’t happy with England’s management of his injury. The second is that it’s a smoke screen and his heads been turned.

If it’s the latter, it’s going to be a real toss up between getting a decent fee in Jan and trying to stay up.

He just isn’t that kind of lad, I think it’s obvious. Whether he fancies a move or not, he’d still give his all in a Leicester shirt. Suspect he’d be more ‘Harry Maguire’ than ‘Wesley Fofana’ if and when a transfer move starts to look possible. 
 

Will be gutted to lose him. Fantastic player, fantastic attitude.

Most likely as he would want to keep his name out there and not risk losing any loyalty bonus.

Nothing has changed. His head hasn’t been turned, he knows he will get a move when the time is right and won’t be signing an extension anytime soon. He isn’t playing because he is injured, simple as that.

His injury record is a blessing and a curse really. He'd have been long gone if he could stay fit and firing, but he can't so we get him for a bit longer albeit in patches. Choose your poison.

Think the injury is genuine, Concerning they haven’t nailed down the issue though.

He is at the stage of his career that he needs a move to serious club. He’s been carrying us for some time. I think any of last seasons top 4 clubs plus Newcastle, Arsenal and Man Utd would benefit from him in and around their squads. 
 

He has given us great service. If we try and hold on past Jan, we risk another Tielemans situation which isn’t very smart. In addition, there isn’t very much we can really offer him here.

We're absolutely bollocksed if Madders has a significant injury. Fingers crossed it's not serious.

Doesn't reflect well on England and their player management, with this and the Phillips story.

 

Sounds they haven't managed things professionally, kind of comes through in BR's comments saying England deemed him to be fit, with the inference he may well not have been and would have been better for him to start any treatment earlier.

This is what I was getting at, although the second sentence could suggest otherwise.

 

Either way, we are ****ed.
