So, anyway, a few months ago, I mentioned I had a massive stroke (cerebral hemorrhage on both sides of my brain). One year ago, I was learning to walk again at the General, after spending two months at the Queens and City in Nottingham (much of it in a couple of comas, but when awake in Nottingham I was suffering from delirium - which greatly affected my wife, so if you are the praying type, please say one for my family).

 

I am a bit self-obsessed in general, and nearly dying (three times! The stroke was supposed to kill me, the vascular surgery was supposed to kill me, and the heart valve replacement was supposed to kill me) hasn't really helped me overcome my infatuation with myself. 

 

I managed to walk for 5 miles the other day, and even went by the stadium. I also have added a clip from my latest medical review from the post-critical care unit. (And now you know I have one of the most common last names in the English-speaking world.)

 

I miss going to the games with my two boys.

 

But I share this because, mentally, I feel like I have to talk about it ... and my family is sick of me talking about it to them.

Most of the ones I've met recently are bang average.

If you have the ability to reply to a customers email within 7 working days you'd be better than 90% of them out there.

Youngsters famously don't have lots of money to buy sweets, but their parents do.

I think there is but it's not active.

 

Something I like especially about FC is that it's mostly apolitical. The athletic, football weekly, etc all converge on the same worldview and it's pretty boring (to me).

It's a bit daft, but me and Mrs Para have started playing a new game whilst out and about. We call it "Guess The Amazon Van Panel".

 

It's simple, whenever we spot an Amazon van we have to guess which body panel has been dented, scratched or has a missing bit of trim.

 

1 point per correct guess and we never fail to get at least 1 point per van.

 

It get's a bit more complicated when there's more than one panel damaged. Does a scrape along the length of the van count as 1, 2 or 3 panels? Should the doors score extra as they're not a fixed panel? 

 

Thoughts?
