I don't know how anyone can listen to Radio 1 or Radio 2 for prolonged periods but Radio 2 is dogshit no matter how old you are.

It was on in the last office I worked in and their playlist every day was genuinely about 20 - 30 songs. There was 1 Kelly Rowland song I heard twice every day for 2 fvcking years.

When it's not a song they've already played in the last 24 hours it's Jeremy Vine winding up morons about "politics".

I feel if you're 40 odd there seems to be nothing in-between. Radio 1 just full of people trying too hard to care about crap new music and Radio 2 feels old fashioned. The rest of the commercial stations are the pits. Sometimes there's some amazing content on Radio 4 if you can find a topic that interests you.

Gave up on Radio 2 a couple of years ago. It's now full of the Radio 1 djs that caused me to leave that.

It’s part of the evolutionary pathway to dribbly piss, deteriorating eyesight, aches and pains after seemingly light exercise, getting up in the night to go to the loo, falling asleep in front of the telly in the evening and then waking up but lying on the sofa for a further half an hour knowing that you should really go to bed and thinking that lots of people you know are looking quite a bit older without recognising how you yourself are ageing  :)

Are you spying on me 😳 You're spot on, unfortunately.

And, every medical professional you meet starts their sentences with "at your age". Said professionals all look about 15, just to make it worse.

Collected an upgraded set of varifocal contact lenses today so, I'm feeling the age pain

For anyone tempted to buy an HDMI to VGA adaptor from Amazon, I'd advise caution. I've bought two different types from them recently, and neither works. They'll both extract the audio just fine, but the video outputs produce blank screens. Having checked elsewhere on the internet, it seems that the process of converting digital signals back to analogue isn't straightforward and there are also other issues at play, including copyright protection and getting the correct screen settings. Ultimately, all I want to do is use a couple of old computer monitors as televisions, one attached to a DVD player and one to a satellite receiver. But it seems that that process is fraught with difficulties - something that Amazon fails to mention.

I had to buy a HDMI to SCART adaptor for my mum, who still uses an old Humax digibox recorder thing that has old connectors. The adapter is a powered box that has its own plug and ports for both connections each way, but it seems to work fine.

So after several weeks of job hunting and not quite hitting the mark my gaffer finally got wind of me searching after a friend of his told him my CV was online and I got pulled into the office this morning.

Expected trouble, but I was wrong, been offered 10% rise on top of what I've had already this year.

Not a bad day. Genuinely don't think my missus will ever have to return to work now. :D

You tell her? Fool

Radio 1 during the daytime is obnoxious shit for idiots. Constantly absolutely awful presenters bellowing nonsense.

Some of the niche night time programming is OK, mind. Although they seem to have migrated their specialist shows over to 6 Music.

I wish I lived in a time where really stressful and dreadful things weren't happening. Imagine living through the fifties, sixties, and seventies.

I'm just not cut out for this kind of despair and upheaval.

If you were in late teens or early 20s in 50s and early 60s you had 2 years of national service to look forward to. Fancy Korea, Malaya or Aden for example or even facing off the Warsaw Pacts for duty in Germany.

I have realized in recent years I have absolutely nothing in common with my sisters and don't really like being around them.

Well the beauty of it is family has been prescribed by fate to people, humans don't choose their blood relatives and within the family structure you have many with different personalities, interests, etc. Whereas with friends, you make an active decision to befriend someone and you will probably share a lot in common with friends. Despite this, the relationship between family should always triumph one's relationship with their friends.

FCUK BUTLINS!!

Me and my family were just kicked out of Butlins, Skegness because two of my children had a bug.

Arrived yesterday, kids got sick last night so called services today to request more towels and sheets only to be told we had to leave, forcing my wife who has medical issues to drive the full 7 hours home with two ill kids in the car (on the way down we split up the journey with a stay at a hotel and planned to do the same going home on Friday) and to top it off, we've been told we will only receive a part refund.

Raging doesn't cover it.
