He just got it wrong, a clear weakness in his game and it's predominantly because he feels noone is allowed to touch him. We know this, shotstopping is mostly brilliant, although the shot went through him today and we have to accept his limitations. This. He is a world class shot stopper and unfortunately poor at dominating the box. We've known that. His distribution is not the best either. Om the whole of course he has been hugely positive for us and undoubtedly a legend. But he has faults too that can cost as well as saving and winning us games.
Old Fox Posted 23 May 2021 Share Posted 23 May 2021 People will only realise how good he is when he retires or leaves ! Yes he does not dominate his area but he is not really built to do so but everything else including his leadership is fantastic! Won us way more points than he has cost us and still getting better!

The 'aerial' part of football very much feels like a bygone era, so I don't buy the mantra above. What do you mean the aerial part is gone? I'm talking about set pieces aerially, hence the amount of goals we've let in. I'd like to see some stats on amount of goals we have let in like this. How many times do you watch a game and the corner goes straight to the keeper? Maybe it's just our attacking corners that do that. My point is I don't always believe the opposition corners are that good, but they put the ball towards Kasper because they know he struggles in the air. Other teams know this by now

steflcfc Posted 23 May 2021 Share Posted 23 May 2021 Unfortunately any keepers mistakes usually end up in goals being conceded no matter who they play for. Kasper had a mare with the punch out and the Spurs player didn’t really do much wrong, But overall as a team we are shocking at Defending and Attacking them. A lot of work is needed from himself and all of our players and staff in the summer to get better in both boxes as we conceded too many goals and was one of our Achilles heels this season.

I also find it frustrating; but its just a weakness he has. He generally deals with it by just staying on the line and HOPING the defenders deal with it. StanSP Posted 23 May 2021 Share Posted 23 May 2021 Does far more good throughout a game/season than he does mistakes. For that, I'm still satisfied with him. I'd like to think most people's frustrations are at the club not making top 4 as opposed to personally Kasper. He's not single-handedly cost us CL. Those came from results earlier in the season.

Analysethis Posted 23 May 2021 Share Posted 23 May 2021 In a league full of giants, its no surprise we are so poor at set pieces as we must be one of the shortest teams around. Ideally, our GK was 6ft 5 and amazing in the air but he isnt! Kasper is a quality GK but coming out for crossing isn't his forte. With Evans missing, it seems Kasper was told to come out for crosses. He did that more today than he has done this season. Its not his fault he messed up as that isnt his game. BTW, some of the comments in here are weird, A GK should be good at stopping the ball from going into the net as Kasper IMO is the best in the league. His distribution and aerial ability at crosses may be lacking, but as a GK he is meant to save the ball from going in and he IMO he is right up there in Europe. I'm biased of course, but couldn't agree more. Kelechi has a bad game and it's fine. Just didn't come off for him today. Kasper has a bad game and the result is apparently entirely on his shoulders. It's all ifs and buts, but if we carried on playing our football at 2-1 then the corner leading to the goal probably wouldn't have happened anyway.
